Founded in 2020 by former venture capitalist Ajay Lakhotia, StockGro is building a full-stack, community-led ecosystem that helps users trade and invest more effectively through expert-driven insights and AI-powered research tools. The platform combines social engagement with market education, aiming to serve the rapidly expanding base of retail investors in India, whose demat accounts have grown from roughly 4 crore in 2020 to over 20 crore by 2025. StockGro plans to use new capital to expand geographically, deepen coverage across multiple asset classes, and bolster its advisory and research capabilities. To date, the company has secured about $90 million in combined equity and debt financing from investors such as SBI Ventures, Root Ventures, General Catalyst, Param Capital, and BITKRAFT Ventures. Financially, StockGro’s FY24 revenue from operations fell 34% year-over-year to ₹86.5 crore, while losses widened 84% to ₹101 crore. The company has not yet filed FY25 financials.

To accelerate growth, Jaro plans to channel fresh capital into marketing, brand building, debt repayment, and general corporate purposes. The firm is preparing an IPO slated for 23–25 September 2025, targeting ₹450 crore (₹170 crore fresh issue and ₹280 crore offer for sale). IPO proceeds are earmarked for ₹81 crore in advertising and ₹48 crore toward debt reduction, with listing planned on NSE and BSE. The issue is being managed by Nuvama Wealth Management, Motilal Oswal Investment Advisors, and Systematix Corporate Services.
