Founded in 2016, Noon operates a multi-category online marketplace complemented by food-delivery and online grocery services, positioning itself as a regional alternative to Amazon. The company’s platform spans Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt, giving it broad coverage across the Gulf and wider Middle East. Noon has secured $2.7 billion in total funding to date and was last valued at nearly $10 billion, according to founder Mohammed Alabbar. Its diversified offerings allow users to purchase everyday goods, order restaurant meals, and schedule grocery deliveries from a single ecosystem. Management is reportedly working toward a potential initial public offering within the next two years. Competitive pressure is intensifying as Amazon expands its grocery footprint, China’s Meituan launches delivery services in the region, and Saudi quick-commerce startup Ninja raises significant capital. Noon’s fresh capital is expected to fund growth initiatives and bolster its position amid price competition.

The company’s revenues climbed to roughly £3.2 billion in 2024, up more than £320 million year-on-year, while pre-tax losses narrowed to £935.6 million and EBITDA losses fell to £778 million. Management attributes the improved performance to subscriber growth, rights renewals and tighter cost controls implemented during an ongoing restructuring. DAZN has expanded its footprint by acquiring Foxtel in Australia and pursuing growth in the Middle East and Asia. Looking ahead, the firm targets approximately £5 billion in revenue and a return to profitability in 2025, after years of heavy investment funded largely by backer Access Industries. Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund has taken a minority stake to bolster regional expansion, and the company has signalled openness to an IPO once it achieves profitability and market conditions permit.
