- Northbound
Participated · Seed · Jul 2024
Northbound provides a SaaS platform designed to optimize operational control across the container supply chain, streamlining flows from ports to warehouses. Its software targets common pain points such as demurrage and detention (D&D), capacity constraints, and missed delivery commitments to prevent costly inefficiencies. The platform uses automation and analytics to reduce the risk of multi-million-euro D&D charges and delayed deliveries. The company plans to enhance its SaaS product and expand AI capabilities to improve operational predictions and decision-making. Northbound intends to grow its team with hires in go-to-market and software engineering and to accelerate customer acquisition. The business recently raised funding to support these product and growth initiatives.

- Warehousing1
Participated · Series A · Apr 2022
Warehousing1 operates a Europe-wide warehousing and fulfilment network, claiming over 850 locations and serving hundreds of active e-commerce customers. The company integrates various shop systems with warehouse management systems to digitalise the entire fulfilment process. Its core product is a digitally managed fulfilment solution that enables coordination across previously hard-to-control systems and system combinations. With recent funding, the company plans to invest heavily in its technology and product development. Management has stated a medium-term goal of transitioning to a largely SaaS-based business model to provide digitally managed fulfilment solutions to more brands. The startup positions itself to scale and disrupt logistics for e-commerce by improving digital fulfilment experiences and long-term customer satisfaction. Warehousing1 operates a cloud-based platform that lets companies find warehouse and distribution solutions across Europe and digitally manage and optimize logistics processes. The platform offers flexible, usage-based billing as an alternative to fixed leases or owning warehouses. Customers can set up variable sales locations billed depending on workload, allowing capacity to expand for seasonal fluctuations and pay only for space actually used. The Berlin startup was founded in 2018, employs more than 20 people, and has won 150+ customers including e-commerce startups and industrial and retail groups. After adding the cloud platform to its original offering the team multiplied its monthly turnover in a short time. The company says the new funding will be used to expand platform functionality further and to onboard larger customers.
