  • Zanskar

    Led · Debt Financing · Apr 2026

Zanskar combines artificial intelligence, modern drilling techniques, and computational geoscience to find, assess, and develop geothermal energy resources. The company has a portfolio of greenfield geothermal projects, including the Lightning Dock site in New Mexico and recent discoveries at Pumpernickel and Big Blind in Nevada, plus two announced discovery sites in Nevada. Financially, Zanskar completed a $115 million Series C in January 2026 (later expanded with additional investment from Just Climate) and has now closed a $40 million revolving Development Capital Facility structured to scale to $100 million. Zanskar plans to use the new facility to fund pre-construction work and bridge projects to traditional project financing so it can rapidly build multiple geothermal power plants. The company aims to deliver gigawatts of clean, firm power to U.S. customers and expects to create hundreds of jobs as it scales development. Zanskar markets its approach as making geothermal more predictable, lowering development costs, and enabling large-scale deployment of dispatchable baseload power.

  • CleanFiber

    Led · Series B · Apr 2024

CleanFiber develops patented technology that transforms recycled cardboard into high-performance, fire-resistant building insulation. The company is positioned as an eco-friendly building materials provider led by CEO Jonathan Strimling. Its product has been adopted by numerous installers across the Northeast and is estimated to have been installed in over 20,000 homes. CleanFiber raised a $28M Series B to support its growth. The company plans to use the funds to scale production, expand its product portfolio, and drive broader adoption of its solutions. The business emphasizes sustainability and building-performance benefits in its core offering. Buffalo-based CleanFiber processes used corrugated cardboard into cellulose insulation for new and existing homes. The company developed a chemical treatment process with scientists at the University of Maine (by 2009) and inherited UltraCell’s patents, later adding its own IP under CEO Jonathan Strimling, who joined in 2012. Its product is formulated to remove contaminants and minimize dust, and it is priced on par with competing insulation. CleanFiber is expanding production capacity to meet demand—existing customers have requested roughly four times the product the company currently ships. The business reports less than 1% monthly churn and net revenue retention well over 100%. It is not yet profitable but the CEO expects profitability within about a year once additional capacity is online. The company also cites favorable market tailwinds such as rebates from the Inflation Reduction Act.

The company plans to add more than 500 new DC Fast chargers across California, Oregon, and Washington, expanding into over 70 new cities. Construction on the expansion will begin in 2024 and continue through 2026. EVCS emphasizes placing chargers at gyms, hotels, libraries, and entertainment centers to match charging supply with demand and accelerate EV adoption. Led by CEO and Co‑Founder Gustavo Occhiuzzo and COO/CFO and Co‑Founder Ian Vishnevsky, the company runs charging stations and offers a subscription EV charging plan. It will use the new capital to bolster construction and installation of new charging locations, hire additional staff, improve digital product experiences, and increase awareness of its subscription plan. The raise will support rapid expansion into 35+ new cities across California and Washington and increase charger density in existing communities. EVCS plans to more than double its network footprint to nearly 1,500 chargers by 2023. The recent financing comprises debt and equity and positions the company to accelerate deployment and customer growth.
