Overview

SSE Ventures is the early-stage venture capital fund of SSE Business Lab and the Stockholm School of Economics. The fund invests in startups admitted to the Incubate program, where they receive coaching, office space and access to a wide range of investors, partners and relevant expertise. SSE Ventures' ambition is to be a long-term owner, which means we aim to continue being shareholders in our portfolio companies even after they have left the Incubate program.     Noru develops an "agentic compliance" platform that connects to company systems via APIs to automate regulatory requirements and replace manual processes with continuous monitoring. The startup embeds compliance directly into development and operational workflows to help companies meet standards such as ISO and SOC and prepare for frameworks like the EU AI Act. Founded six months ago by Bip Thelin and Therese Ruth and based in Stockholm, Noru has onboarded about twenty paying customers during its pilot and supported them in achieving multiple security certifications. Financially, Noru completed a €560,000 pre-seed round led by Ampli Ventures with participation from Andreessen Horowitz Scout Fund, SSE Business Lab, the DHS angel network, Nordic investors, and Mark Strande. The company plans to use the funding to grow its customer base and hire engineers and marketing staff.

The company says this automation and contract consolidation frees internal resources and simplifies scaling for international businesses. Telgea is already live in eight countries and is launching a new country each month as it expands. Established in 2000 and led by CEO Brian Davidson, the company operates from Coventry and Stirling in the UK. It has raised £12m in funding to support growth. The company intends to use the funding to expand in the UK market, finance the acquisition of Endurant Energy in the US, and grow internationally.
