AirForestry develops drone-based systems for tree harvesting and automated forestry operations. In 2026 the company completed several technical milestones, including the world’s first drone-based tree harvest in a production forest and multi-tree automated harvest sequences on its test field. To scale development it secured €1.8M in commitments from four leading forest companies and a €4.4M Vinnova grant for the PADA project with partners such as Skogforsk, SLU, SCA, Sveaskog, Stora Enso, Holmen Skog, Tele2, and IKEA. Nordic Forestry Automation builds physical-AI driven systems, sensor-fusion and robotic solutions for forestry machines, including proprietary software that enables harvesters to measure trees in real time. Its first commercial product is already in use across seven markets on three continents, and its systems have logged more than 20,000 hours of operation.
