  • WindBorne Systems

    Participated · Series B · Aug 2026

Founded in 2019, WindBorne Systems collects atmospheric data with long-duration balloons and low-cost sensors and uses that proprietary dataset to power AI-based weather forecasting models. The company operates about 20 launch sites globally and typically has roughly 600 balloons in the air, collecting measurements from hard-to-reach areas including storm eyes. Its data customers today include the U.S. National Weather Service, and it runs research partnerships with the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy. WindBorne is expanding its sensing toolkit with aerial sensor packages that can fall into the ocean and continue collecting data as floating buoys. Management reports growing revenue and highlights the proprietary dataset — which CEO John Dean called a "planetary nervous system" — as a moat for its models. The company plans to invest in compute, communications upgrades, and a larger go-to-market team to scale commercial sales to private-sector customers.

  • RevBind

    Participated · Seed · Apr 2026

RevBind builds an integrated sales system for insurance agents that sources leads via a proprietary marketplace, applies AI to score prospects instantly, and automatically engages and nurtures prospects until they are ready to close. The company was co-founded by Jeremy Stringham, who brings over 15 years of experience as an insurance agent, and Evan Barnes. RevBind positions its product as a fully integrated automation and AI-driven sales workflow for the insurance industry. The startup recently raised $1M in pre-seed funding from Translink Capital, Rightside Capital, and Kickstart Seed Fund to support product development and company build-out. The team has stated plans to accelerate development and roll the platform out to agents in the near term.

  • Atolio

    Led · Series A · Sep 2025

Atolio offers a fully-private, AI-powered enterprise search platform that can be deployed on-premises or in a client’s private cloud to keep sensitive data protected. The company’s solution is designed to connect siloed systems of information and surface organizational knowledge for enterprise teams. Since founding in 2019, Atolio has deployed its platform to leading enterprises across industries and won multiple seven-figure contracts in the past three quarters. The firm says the product helps improve availability of product and customer information for sales and marketing and drives internal efficiencies. Atolio plans to use new capital to accelerate product development, grow the organization, and scale company operations. Its stated mission is to unlock value trapped in companies’ knowledge to help them run better businesses.

  • Makersite

    Participated · Series B · Jul 2025

Makersite offers an AI-powered platform that ingests fragmented product data, uses AI to clean, connect, and structure it, and combines it with a proprietary data foundation covering material/component cost, environmental footprint, regulatory status, and more. Built on that data foundation, the platform provides tools and integrations that let cross-functional teams assess design and procurement choices in real time and streamline performance reporting for cost, carbon, compliance, and risk. The product connects with PLM systems such as Siemens Teamcenter and PTC Windchill, and CAD tools including Ansys and Autodesk. Makersite serves more than 150 employees and works with enterprise customers including Microsoft, Daikin, Cummins, Barco, and Schneider Electric. The company says the new funding will accelerate platform development, deepen integrations with technology partners, and scale the team and global impact. Its stated mission is to make sustainable product design the default by enabling manufacturers to design products that are affordable, safe, and green. Makersite maps a company’s product data against a large material and supply-chain database to generate automated multicriteria reports for sustainability, compliance, cost and risk. The platform builds cradle-to-grave models of products and their components, localizing results to manufacturing and installation geographies. Using AI, Makersite can automatically construct lifecycle models from a bill of materials and provide trade-off analysis across criteria such as cost, regulations and recyclability. The company counts more than 30 customers, including Microsoft, Cummins and Vestas, and its balance sheet shows profitable operations over the last few years. Makersite is investing in connectors to design tools like Autodesk to surface cost and environmental insights inside CAD workflows. Over the next 12 months it plans to grow headcount from around 40 to over 100, focusing on sales and marketing expansion in the U.S. and Europe and partnerships with integrators and resellers.

  • Foundation EGI

    Led · Series A · Jul 2025

Foundation EGI offers an engineering general intelligence (EGI) platform that combines purpose-built large language models with physics-based context and engineering best practices to tackle design-to-manufacturing complexity. The platform transforms disorganized specifications, siloed tribal knowledge, and outdated instructions into succinct, structured, auditable, and human- and machine-executable workflows. It targets multiple manufacturing domains including automotive, heavy industry, appliances, power tools, and advanced manufacturing and is used at leading Fortune 500 industrial brands. The company was born from MIT cross-disciplinary research led by co-founders Wojciech Matusik and Michael Foshey and cites a 2024 paper, "Large Language Models for Design and Manufacturing," as foundational. Foundation EGI says its vision is to turn manufacturing's biggest bottlenecks into breakthroughs and enable AI-native co-design between humans and machines. Financially, the company announced an oversubscribed Series A of $23M, raising over $30M in total. Foundation EGI has launched a proprietary domain-specific large language model and agentic AI platform purpose-built for engineering and manufacturing workflows. The platform interprets complex natural-language instructions, converts them into clean, structured code and machine-executable workflows, and integrates with industry-standard design tools. Early pilots with several unnamed Fortune 500 industrial companies reportedly show reductions in design-to-manufacture cycles, fewer production errors, and faster time-to-market. The company plans to use the new funding to expand engineering and product teams, scale enterprise pilots and onboard new clients, enhance integrations with leading engineering tools, and advance its core LLM to cover more specialized manufacturing domains. Foundation EGI was co-founded by Mok Oh, Ph.D., Professor Wojciech Matusik, and Michael Foshey, and its work was catalyzed by a 2024 MIT paper titled “Large Language Models for Design and Manufacturing.”
