TU Delft offer 16 Bachelor’s programmes and over 35 Master’s programmes in the fields of science, engineering and design.     Spatialise is based in Noordwijk, Netherlands and was founded by Soufiane el Khinifri. The company develops an AI-driven soil health monitoring platform that provides insights into key soil components. Its platform uses satellite data and artificial intelligence to analyze nutrients in farmland topsoil, including organic carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. In November 2024 Spatialise secured €350,000 in funding from UNIIQ. The investment will support expansion of its technology and enhancement of the AI-driven soil health monitoring platform. UNIIQ is a €50 million fund managed by InnovationQuarter, Leiden University, Erasmus MC, and TU Delft that focuses on accelerating innovations during the proof-of-concept phase.

  • QphoX

    QphoX develops core quantum internet hardware focused on quantum transduction, translating quantum information between microwave and optical domains. The company demonstrated optical-frequency readout of superconducting qubits in October 2023 as a proof of concept. Management says its transduction hardware is at a performance level that will allow quantum systems to connect through optical quantum channels. The €8 million investment — the largest in a Dutch quantum company to date — will be used to commercialise and bring QphoX's quantum modem technology to market. The raise underscores the firm's position in the quantum networking space and provides capital to move from demonstration to productisation. QphoX is developing a commercial "quantum modem" that coherently converts electrical and microwave signals to optical signals and back so separate quantum processors can communicate. The company’s modem is designed to be agnostic to qubit type, focusing on the microwave-to-optical interface to work with superconducting and topological qubits. QphoX aims to enable networking of separate processors so quantum computers can scale beyond tens or hundreds of qubits. The modem originated at TU Delft and the company is building that academic prototype into a real product. Simon Gröblacher is CEO and co-founder. QphoX recently raised €2 million to advance product development and commercialization.

    Bluebee provides a cloud-based genomics analysis solution combined with accelerated hardware to enable fast and efficient processing of large volumes of genomics data. Its technology aims to reduce complexity and throughput time for research centres, clinical labs and diagnostics companies. The company was founded in 2011 by Prof. dr. ir. Koen Bertels as a spin-off of Delft University of Technology and Imperial College London and is led by CEO Hans Cobben. Bluebee is based in Delft, The Netherlands. It raised €10M in Series A funding and intends to use the proceeds to innovate the Bluebee platform. The financing supports continued product development and scaling of its cloud high-performance genomics solutions. Bluebee provides a cloud-based, distributed computing platform combined with accelerated hardware to process large sequencing data volumes in very short timeframes. The platform has been piloted by Tier 1 clinical research labs such as DKFZ (German Cancer Research Center). Bluebee was founded in 2011 as a spin-off of Delft University of Technology and Imperial College London and is led by CEO Hans Cobben. The company is based in Delft, The Netherlands. It offers a genomics solution aimed at clinicians and labs and intends to expand adoption in those markets. Bluebee raised external funding to support that go-to-market effort.
