  • Posterity Health

    Participated · Series A · Feb 2025

Posterity Health delivers comprehensive male reproductive and hormonal healthcare via telehealth, at-home diagnostics, and in-person services, covering fertility optimization, hormone management, vasectomies, and related procedures. Its platform uses technology-driven triage and decision-support tools to match patients with reproductive urologists and guide appropriate testosterone therapy. The company emphasizes early male evaluation to reduce unnecessary female treatments and to detect underlying health risks linked to male infertility. Posterity cites an actuarial analysis showing employers save $2.30 for every $1 spent on male fertility care and notes that 50% of infertility cases are linked to the male partner. The company is expanding nationwide and building a growing team of reproductive urologists. Dr. William Schoolcraft joined as a strategic advisor to support clinician and public education on early male fertility evaluation. Posterity Health is the only digital male fertility center of excellence offering personalized advice, educational resources, and effective male fertility treatments. Its Digital Health Platform combines virtual visits, at-home diagnostics, and in-person consultations and delivers services including baseline assessments, sperm preservation, semen analysis, pregnancy loss consults, diagnostic workups, vasectomy reversals, and gender-affirming care. The company deploys care protocols developed with a Medical Advisory Board that includes leaders from Weill Cornell, UCSF, and Yale. Posterity plans to use the $7.5M oversubscribed round to accelerate its Digital Health Platform and expand national access to male fertility testing and treatment, doubling the number of reproductive urologists on its network. The expansion is timed to capitalize on new male fertility benefits that became effective January 1, 2023. Early data from a hormone management study showed nearly 70 percent of males receiving hormone management therapy had an improved sperm count, which the company cites as validation of its care model. Posterity Health operates a digital male fertility platform that provides personalized advice, educational resources, and treatments aimed at addressing male contributors to infertility. Its telehealth offering, Male Factor Management, delivers virtual visits, at-home diagnostics, and in-person consults. Services include baseline assessments, sperm preservation, semen analysis, pregnancy loss consults, diagnostic workups, vasectomy reversals, and gender-affirming care. The company emphasizes education and engagement through its digital platform combined with at-home testing as a key differentiator. Posterity launched service in Colorado, currently provides care in 26 states, and has a team of 15 people. Founders Pam Pure (CEO) and Barrett Cowan (co-founder and CMO) plan to grow the clinical team and partnerships while expanding services nationwide.

  • Paxton

    Participated · Series A · Jan 2025

Paxton is an AI platform for the legal industry that automates complex tasks to help legal teams focus on strategic work. Its platform conducts primary research across laws, regulations, and case law, drafts complex legal documents, and analyzes large volumes of documents in seconds. The product provides real-time updates on U.S. laws and court rulings by scanning millions of sources daily. Paxton also offers a confidence indicator and AI Citator features to surface reliability insights and case law analysis. The company plans to use the new funding to expand operations and accelerate development efforts. Founded by CEO Tanguy Chau and CTO Michael Ulin and based in Bend, OR, Paxton has now raised $28M to date following a $6M seed in September 2023. Paxton offers a generative AI legal assistant focused on regulatory intelligence and legal research, using natural language processing and machine learning to produce intelligently analyzed first drafts. The platform is designed to avoid hallucinations by providing clear, accurate citations for every claim so practitioners can verify outputs. Users can upload their own research and documents for analysis, and Paxton's database is updated in real time to track US federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and guidance. The product can be deployed behind a firm firewall with options to isolate data access by practice group or matter. Paxton complies with SOC2 requirements (attestation pending) and follows the American Bar Association’s guidelines on legal AI. The company is led by co-founders and CEO Tanguy Chau and CTO Mike Ulin.

  • Juno

    Participated · Series A · Jul 2024

Juno provides child disability insurance as an employer-offered benefit, offering up to $1 million in tax-free cash ($500,000 per qualifying child) paid monthly for up to 10 years. The benefit covers children from birth to age 26 and can be used to supplement lost income, hire specialized caregivers, or address medical costs not covered by health insurance. Juno also provides one-on-one support services to help families navigate their child’s condition, access other resources, and build a long-term plan. The company is a public benefit corporation and donates 2% of every premium to organizations that research childhood disabilities and rare diseases or provide direct support to families. Juno recently closed an $8.5 million Series A led by Spero Ventures, bringing total capital raised to $12.5 million, and will use the funding to expand its client base, broker network, and product flexibility. Based in San Diego, Juno positions itself as a pioneer in filling a gap in the U.S. safety net for working parents whose children become severely ill or disabled.

  • Vectara

    Participated · Series A · Jul 2024

Vectara offers an end-to-end RAG-as-a-service platform that embeds generative AI features into applications while asserting it never trains on customer data. The company has developed Mockingbird, a fine-tuned LLM optimized for RAG that Vectara says reduces hallucinations, improves structured outputs, and runs with low latency and cost efficiency. Vectara couples Mockingbird with its open-source Hughes Hallucination Evaluation Model (HHEM) and leaderboard, which thousands reportedly use to mitigate hallucinations. The product positioning targets regulated sectors such as health, legal, finance, and manufacturing where accuracy, security, and explainability are critical. With the new model and tooling, Vectara aims to support integrations with downstream systems and functional calls for autonomous agents. The company plans to ramp go-to-market resources and expand its offering in Australia and EMEA. Vectara was founded by three former Googlers to build a conversational search platform for enterprises that lets developers retrieve and summarize text from large corporate data stores. The company offers an AI-powered, API-based search that can handle queries of arbitrary length, ambiguity and language and returns summaries with citations. Its platform ingests documents in real time and supports client-configurable data retention so organizations can discard originals after indexing to limit residual data. Vectara says it grounds summarization by constraining models to customer-indexed data while training on publicly licensed sources such as Wikipedia. Customers include Conversica, Apex Chat, Metus and Oncotelic Therapeutics, and the company competes with cognitive search products like Amazon Kendra and Microsoft SharePoint Syntex. Vectara has 24 employees and plans to use its recent funding to expand engineering and go-to-market teams with emphasis on European, Middle Eastern and Asia Pacific regions. Vectara offers a neural search-as-a-service that converts queries into vector space and indexes an organization’s data to surface results via vector proximity and cross-attentional ranking. The platform encompasses the full data pipeline, ingesting diverse file types (Word, PDF) and understanding document structure rather than just providing a standalone vector database. Founders Amr Awadallah (CEO), Amin Ahmad (CTO) and Tallat Shafaat (chief architect) are former Google staffers and built the company in stealth under the name ZIR AI. Vectara emphasizes transformer-based models and fine-tuning to capture context and improve query relevance. The company launched its neural search offering with $20 million in seed funding and made the technology available upon emerging from stealth. Vectara plans to expand beyond search over time to add services such as recommendations and tools to surface related topics.

  • Lutra AI

    Participated · Seed · Dec 2023

Lutra AI creates AI workflows from natural language so non-developers can automate tasks by connecting existing apps such as Google Workspace and Slack. The product enables automations for email management, internet research and Slack customer interactions. The team takes a code-first approach to execution to improve security and reliability, and concentrates LLMs on specific tasks rather than using them for everything. Founded by ex-Google and Coursera employees including Jiquan Ngiam and Vijay Vasudevan, the company launched in April and recently came out of stealth. Lutra is currently in private beta with a small number of customers and is too early to share traction. With new funding the team plans to expand access to more customers and focus on product development and product-market fit.
