  • Secai Marche

    Participated · Series A · Oct 2025

Secai Marche runs an online marketplace that directly connects Southeast Asian foodservice operators and retailers with producers, while also handling every step of fulfillment—ordering, inspection, packing, and temperature-controlled delivery. By marrying Japanese logistics expertise with local operations, the company seeks to modernize the region’s fresh-food supply chain through a seamless, cross-border cold chain. Its strategy includes extending refrigerated infrastructure to major cities and incorporating maritime transport to maintain strict temperature management from farm to kitchen. The firm positions its service as “Japanese-quality” and aims to cut food waste by preserving freshness throughout transit. Newly raised funds will be directed toward expanding logistics hubs, strengthening cold-chain networks, and scaling temperature-controlled delivery capacity. To date, Secai Marche has secured a cumulative ¥1.2 billion in Series A financing from the corporate venture arms of three leading Japanese logistics groups.

  • HIVED

    Participated · Series B · Jul 2025

HIVED builds an end-to-end parcel delivery network purpose-built for e-commerce, running on a 100% electric fleet and its HIVEDmind platform that leverages AI, real-time data, and modern architecture. The platform connects retailers, warehouses, drivers, and customers through integrated routing, real-time warehouse sorting, dynamic delivery clusters, and live parcel tracking. HIVEDmind models driver behaviour and real-world conditions to forecast volumes, optimize parking and routes, and surface delivery photos, geo-coded dashboards, behavioural alerts, and fraud-pattern detection for retailers. The company claims to be the world’s only end-to-end electric logistics network and is the UK’s highest-rated parcel delivery company on Trustpilot by far. Going forward, HIVED plans to accelerate its UK rollout into several new cities, grow its engineering and data teams, and further develop its proprietary logistics intelligence. Hived is building a delivery network at scale powered entirely by electricity and integrated with platforms such as Metapack, Shopify and Shiptheory. The network offers features including dynamic delivery-window ETAs, live tracking, in-flight redirect options, customizable customer communications and merchant dashboards with carbon-saving reporting. It delivers for large retailers including ASOS and ZARA as well as fast-growing SMEs such as Candy Kittens, Vitl and Pip & Nut. Since its August 2021 seed round the company has grown revenue 30% month over month and expanded to a head office of 40 and over 1,000 drivers. Hived intends to use new funding to invest further in its team, technology and to build a new warehouse. The business operates entirely on electric vehicles and provides carbon-saving reporting to merchants. HIVED is a parcel-delivery startup that uses electric cargo bikes for last-mile urban deliveries. It operates a fleet of 20 Raleigh e-cargobikes ridden by directly employed couriers and aims to offer estimated drop-offs in 15-minute slots. The company raised $2.4 million in venture-capital and angel funding to expand operations. Currently delivering within London’s M25, HIVED plans to expand into larger U.K. cities and achieve national coverage within three years, using electric vans for longer journeys while keeping most last-mile deliveries on e-cargobikes. Founded last year by Murvah Iqbal and Mathias Krieger, the startup emphasizes avoiding the gig economy and employing riders to improve service quality. HIVED previously received launch backing from Innovate UK in June 2020 and trialed several e-cargobike models before selecting Raleigh bikes for its fleet.

  • Shinkei Systems

    Participated · Series A · Jun 2025

Shinkei Systems builds a proprietary technology stack that combines robotics, supply-chain tracking, AI species identification, and cold storage to automate ikejime, a Japanese fish-slaughter technique, via its onboard Poseidon device. The device is installed on commercial fishing vessels and processes each fish within seconds of capture; Shinkei digitally tracks each catch and pays fishermen more for higher-quality fish. The company sells the resulting product under the Seremoni Grade brand and lists placements at high-end restaurants such as Blue Hill at Stone Barns and Atomix, and retailers including Happier Grocery and Pullman Market. Shinkei has formed distribution partnerships, notably with Yamato Transport to move U.S.-caught seafood into Japanese markets including Toyosu fish market. Founded in 2021 by Saif Khawaja and Reed Ginsberg and based in El Segundo, California, the company has raised $30 million to date. With the Series A proceeds, Shinkei plans to expand its retail and vessel footprint and grow its engineering team to scale deployment.

  • Axelspace

    Participated · Series D · Dec 2023

Axelspace Holdings offers a one-stop service for microsatellites via its AxelLiner service and operates the AxelGlobe Earth-observation platform. The company handles satellite design, manufacturing, launch arrangement, and post-launch operation support for microsatellites and related components. Axelspace emphasizes proprietary microsatellite technology and end-to-end in-orbit operations expertise. The firm aims to advance its vision, “Space within Your Reach,” by expanding commercial and co-created offerings in aerospace and aviation. Recent strategic share acquisitions by corporate venture funds are intended to accelerate business expansion and new business co-creation with industry partners. Axelspace is headquartered in Tokyo and was established in March 2020. Axelspace develops, builds, launches and operates microsatellites and provides Earth-observation services such as AxelGlobe. The company currently operates a proprietary microsatellite constellation of five satellites and has developed and operated nine microsatellites in total, including a JAXA technology demonstration satellite. Axelspace offers full-scale microsatellite services to public and private sector customers and is developing an integrated one-stop service called AxelLiner, whose demonstration satellite is expected to launch in early 2024. The company is also working on constructing optical data-relay satellite constellations to expand its service capabilities. Axelspace says it will use the new funds to meet more diverse customer demands and accelerate societal applications of microsatellites. Headquartered in Tokyo, the company positions itself to expand both AxelGlobe and AxelLiner offerings. Axelspace builds and operates GRUS small satellites that collect panchromatic imagery at 2.5-meter resolution and multispectral bands (red, blue, green, near-infrared and red-edge) at 5-meter resolution. It sells 2.5-meter pan-sharpened images through AxelGlobe, a web-based platform. The company launched its first 100-kilogram satellite in 2018 and sent four more satellites into sun-synchronous orbit in March. With the planned five additional satellites funded by the Series C round, Axelspace aims to field a ten-satellite constellation in 2023 to obtain daily imagery of mid-latitude regions including Japan. Axelspace emphasizes capturing large areas in a single image—about 57 kilometers across and up to 1,000 kilometers vertically—to simplify client analysis compared with mosaicked data. The firm has about 80 employees, more than 50 of whom are engineers from around the world.
