Huaqin Communication Technology is a China-based electronics production services provider and original design manufacturer that designs and produces communication and mobile devices. Founded in 2005, the company provides design and manufacturing services for mobile and communications equipment. The article reports Huaqin raised more than RMB1 billion (about $143m) in a financing round. That round valued the company at more than $2 billion. Investors named in the deal include Intel Capital, Qualcomm Ventures, Zhangjiang Hi-Tech, brokerage CMSC, CMB International and China Merchants Bank, as well as SinoKing Capital, Wise Road Capital and SummitView Capital. Huaqin Telecom is a Shanghai-based global original design manufacturer whose product lineup includes smartphones and tablets and extends to notebook computers, servers and Internet of Things devices. Huaqin plans to use the proceeds to develop its notebook computer and data center businesses, accelerate manufacturing automation and enhance vertical industry integration. The company’s global footprint and product diversification position it to pursue growth across consumer and enterprise hardware segments.
