Accelerating Asia

39 Ann Siang Rd, Singapore, Central Singapore, 069716

Overview

Accelerating Asia is an early-stage venture capital fund that runs programs for startups and investors. Licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, Accelerating Asia's early-stage VC fund focuses on pre-Series A startups with untapped potential that are 6-18 months away from institutional funding. Accelerating Asia invests up to US$250,000 in pre-Series A startups and our current portfolio covers over 10 countries in Southeast and South Asia including Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Bangaldesh and Malaysia. With most angels and startup programs in the region focussed on ideation-MVP stage startups, and venture funds focused on solid product-market fit, startups with a robust product at early stages of customer traction are often overlooked. That's where Accelerating Asia comes in. Our accelerator and venture capital model is designed to support pre-Series A startups to fast track growth and drive success. At the core of the work we do is the guiding belief that entrepreneurs are one of humanity’s greatest catalysts for positive change.

Mayani is a Philippine-based B2B agritech innovator operating a multi-point value‑chain platform that links over 144,000 organised smallholder farmers and fisherfolk to B2B buyers. The company provides ancillary agro-services including quality agricultural inputs and rural financial inclusion to boost yields and climate resilience. Mayani reported over three times revenue growth in the same fiscal year and positive margins, indicating strong fundamentals. In 2023 Mayani closed a $1.7M seed round led by AgFunder. The recent strategic partnership with Ninjacart will bring capital plus supply‑chain technology, source traceability and inventory management to improve interoperability, predictive modelling and efficiency. The partnership is intended to support Mayani’s expansion and to jointly build an integrated Asian agri‑food supply chain to accelerate digital innovations across the region. Mayani operates an e-commerce marketplace listing a variety of agricultural produce—including seafood, vegetables, poultry, coffee, and fruits—for both consumers and businesses. Its B2B business, focused on fish, is the core revenue generator and supplies sustainably produced fish to about 500 food service providers, international hotels, food processors and other institutional buyers. The platform works with roughly 139,000 small-scale farmers and fisherfolk and aims to bridge recurring institutional demand with fragmented supply. The company has used recent seed funding to expand supply-chain operations, grow its team, and set up a farmer engagement division to enlarge its farmer footprint. Mayani plans to unlock adjacent services for its producer base such as input provision and trade credit to boost rural incomes and strengthen its ecosystem role. The founders say the long-term goal is to drive digital transformation in the Philippines’ agri-fisheries sector and contribute to national GDP growth.
