Founded in 2020 out of research conducted at the Institut Néel (CNRS) and incubated by SATT Linksium, Moïz develops energy-harvesting technology that converts waste heat from industrial equipment into electricity for connected sensors. Its devices enable fully autonomous, battery-free monitoring solutions, cutting both environmental impact and installation or maintenance costs for heavy-industry clients such as Rio Tinto, with whom it has worked since 2021. The company’s first generation of sensors targets the digitalisation and decarbonisation of industrial sites by providing reliable data acquisition in harsh environments. With fresh capital, Moïz plans to accelerate the industrialisation of these products, expand international market reach, and advance R&D on silicon-integrated thermal energy recovery technologies. The startup will also strengthen its R&D team through approximately ten new hires over the next twelve months. To date, Moïz has secured €3 million in external funding, including €1.1 million in equity, to finance these growth initiatives.
- zkPass
Participated · Series A · Oct 2024
zkPass builds the zkTLS oracle protocol, combining 3P-TLS and Hybrid ZK technologies to enable verifiable, privacy-preserving data sharing from HTTPS websites without OAuth. The protocol is Prover-centric and allows users to generate zero-knowledge proofs of private data in-browser within one second and selectively prove identities, financial records, healthcare information, and other sensitive data. zkPass has indexed over 200 schemas from 70+ verified web data sources and, as of October 2024, has generated more than 2 million zk attestations across categories including financial institutions, e-commerce, social media, and online education. The company positions zkTLS to bridge Web2 and Web3 and to enable large-scale private data integration for decentralized applications, with applications across AI, DePIN, DID, lending, TradFi and DeFi. The announced funding will be used to accelerate technology development and market adoption and to bring zkTLS to real-world applications. zkPass develops a privacy-preserving protocol for private data verification that lets users disclose personal data without exposing or uploading the actual documents. Its technology stack combines zero-knowledge proofs, multi-party computation, and three-party transport layer security. The company offers TransGate, which enables users to selectively and privately validate their data on any HTTPS website to the web3 world. TransGate and the protocol can cover various data types, including legal identity, financial records, healthcare information, social interactions, work experience, and education and skill certifications. zkPass raised seed funding and plans to use the proceeds to advance development of its pre-alpha testnet. The platform emphasizes secure, private verifications without sending sensitive personal data to third parties.
- peaq
Participated · Seed · Jun 2022
peaq is a Web3 DePIN platform building modular DePIN functions for decentralized physical infrastructure networks. Its product roadmap includes Modular DePIN Functions such as peaq ID for self-sovereign machine identities and peaq pay for peer-to-peer payments. The company raised $20 million via a token launch on CoinList, the largest CoinList launch in over two years. The offering was oversubscribed—more than 14,500 community members contributed over $36 million in total—and coincided with 20%+ growth across peaq’s ecosystem. peaq plans to use the funds to bolster ecosystem growth, support community-facing programs, and accelerate development of its Modular DePIN Functions ahead of its mainnet launch. CoinList is finalizing token allocations and will provide token generation event details closer to mainnet. peaq builds a web3 network that hosts decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePINs) — token-incentivized dapps that crowdsource and operate connected real-world infrastructure. It currently hosts 20 DePINs, including Silencio (an app for measuring noise pollution with smartphones) and ELOOP (a Tesla car-sharing fleet). After years of R&D, the company is preparing for a network launch. peaq raised $15M to strengthen its network and ecosystem. The funding will be directed to an Ecosystem Grant Program and to further development of backend functions and a Software Development Kit to help teams build and deploy projects faster. The project aims to shift ownership of mobility, internet and energy infrastructure from corporate to community-owned models. Peaq offers decentralized infrastructure and developer tools for building and monetizing decentralized applications (dapps) for machines, vehicles and devices. The network enables dapps for use cases such as bike and car sharing, electric-vehicle charging and peer-to-peer energy trading. Peaq is built on Substrate and is pursuing a Polkadot parachain to enable cross-chain interoperability and enhanced security. The project plans to introduce machine DeFi, machine NFTs and self-sovereign machine identities so machines can act as sovereign economic actors. Peaq raised $6 million in seed funding to expand its development team and support new product and feature launches. A portion of the funds will also be used to increase awareness ahead of its bid for the Polkadot parachain. Co-founder Till Wendler described the buildout as necessary to prepare for wider Web3 adoption and increased reliance on AI. peaq is a blockchain infrastructure and solution development company founded in 2017 that aims to transform the internet of things into the “economy of things.” The company offers peaq enterprise, focused on blockchain solutions for businesses, and the newly announced peaq network for a public network and token ecosystem. peaq says its enterprise product will use recent funding to expand customer deployments while peaq network funding will support the public network and a planned token offering. Customers include Fortune 100 company NTT and a large German automotive group, which the company cites as validation of its technology. CEO Till Wendler said the team delayed launching a public network to create real-world value for businesses first and will share more information as the peaq network funding round finalises. The firm intends to use the capital to diversify its blockchain solution across enterprise and public network efforts. Led by CEO Till Wendler, peaq develops neutral innovation and transaction infrastructure for decentralized IoT applications and has built its own blockchain infrastructure called DAGchain. A 16-member team researched and developed the technology in Berlin over a three-year period. DAGchain combines blockchain and DAG technology to enable high performance, high security and decentralized operation without high energy consumption. The platform supports conventional programming languages and complies with data protection requirements. In 2020 the company reported revenue of €600k. peaq intends to use the funding to launch a full-scale blockchain platform for the automotive industry and plans to replicate the platform across telecommunications and compliance industries.
