  • SenseUP

    Participated · Seed · Jan 2026

SenseUP is a Cologne-based ag-biotech startup creating double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) biopesticides that selectively disable pests via RNA interference while sparing soil, plants, and wildlife. Its key innovation is engineering Corynebacterium strains that both encapsulate dsRNA inside robust cell walls and produce it at high titers, giving the products 18-plus months of room-temperature stability and production costs that can compete with synthetic chemicals. Proprietary fluorescence-activated biosensors screen millions of strains per second, allowing rapid identification of top dsRNA producers and enabling single products that can target multiple pests simultaneously. The company has completed initial field trials and is now advancing roughly 15 product candidates, with greenhouse and expanded field results expected in 2026. SenseUP plans to submit regulatory dossiers and commercialize through partnerships with major agricultural firms, initially focusing on the U.S. and South American markets while also eyeing Europe. The seed financing provides capital to expand its portfolio, grow its team, and deepen strategic collaborations. No revenue figures have been disclosed, and this seed raise represents the first publicly reported external funding for the company.

  • SAIA Agrobotics

    Led · Series A · Nov 2025

Founded in 2017 in Ede, the Netherlands, SAIA Agrobotics has engineered an inverted greenhouse model where crops are shuttled on a logistics system to fixed robots for scanning, deleafing, and harvesting. This approach removes the need for mobile field robots, giving the machines full 360-degree access to each plant and enabling harvesting 52 weeks a year. The company claims its technology can raise crop yields by 20 % while cutting total greenhouse labour requirements in half and delivering over 99 % picking accuracy. Earlier this year SAIA completed the world’s first fully automated greenhouse and installed its first commercial modules with customer Growers United. After six years of R&D, the startup holds multiple international patents covering its plant logistics and robotics concepts. With total funding now exceeding €20 million, SAIA intends to accelerate commercial roll-out and enter the broader market next year. The new capital will support scaling production, further technological refinement, and expansion of its customer base across controlled-environment agriculture.

  • SuperGround

    Led · Equity · Sep 2025

SuperGround Oy is a Finnish food-technology company with a patented processing technology that transforms undervalued fish and poultry side streams into high-protein ingredients for consumer products such as nuggets, patties and burgers. Its approach is designed to help food producers lower costs, reduce waste and increase protein content while maintaining taste and scalability. The company secured an additional €1.15M extension, bringing recent funding to €3.65M, a signal of investor confidence in a tougher FoodTech funding environment. The extension round was led by CHECK24 Impact (Germany) and Propeller Ventures (US), following earlier backing from Hatch Blue Revolution Fund. SuperGround plans to use the fresh capital to accelerate commercialization, beginning with a partnership with Sweden’s Ocean Next AB. Production and launch of sustainable seafood products across the Nordics will be driven via Ocean Next and Korshags Food AB, with production in Falkenberg.
