- SkinBit
Participated · Seed · Aug 2026
SkinBit combines a twenty-minute proprietary full-body imaging scanner with a longitudinal data platform that gives patients a persistent record of their skin. The company places its scanning systems inside med spas, longevity clinics, and dermatology practices and routes concerning cases to dermatologists with a data-backed baseline. Founded in 2023 by melanoma survivor Jonathan Benassaya, SkinBit has assembled a clinical leadership team including co-founder and medical advisor Dr. Justin Ko and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sancy Leachman, and counts nine board-certified dermatologists as investors. The startup has raised $6M in pre-seed funding and reports a waitlist of more than 5,000 people with zero paid marketing to date. Operational plans include three locations live in 2026, fifteen by the end of 2027, and an expanding pipeline of partner sites while it builds a compounding clinical dataset.
- Plug
Participated · Seed · Apr 2025
Plug is building core infrastructure for the rapidly growing secondary EV market by providing a dedicated marketplace that connects consumers, dealers, and commercial consignors. Its platform offers wholesale valuations derived from proprietary data, real-time market and pricing signals, battery-health intelligence, and VIN-level vehicle information, enabling most listings to receive market-rate offers within 24 hours. Since its 2024 launch, Plug has facilitated more than $60 million in used EV sales, with Q4 2025 volume alone surpassing its entire 2024 performance. Over 600 dealers and commercial sellers are active on the marketplace, attracted by faster, more accurate, and lower-risk transacting. The company plans to use new capital to expand supply pipelines, build additional technology for evaluating EV condition and capability, and scale its go-to-market efforts across wholesale and retail channels. Leadership additions in finance and marketing, along with new board appointments, are intended to support this next growth phase. Plug is headquartered in Santa Monica, California.
- KoBold Metals
Participated · Series B · Aug 2022
KoBold Metals applies machine learning to massive geological datasets to improve success rates in mineral exploration, particularly for copper. The company was founded in 2018 and uses AI to prioritize and target prospective deposits. KoBold plans to expand exploration efforts across five continents and to develop a large copper deposit it discovered in Zambia. The firm argues its approach can reduce the historically high risk in mining exploration by improving hit rates. KoBold operates amid rising strategic demand for critical minerals as U.S.–China tensions affect supply chains. Its recent financing signals strong investor confidence in both the technology and the Zambia project. KoBold Metals applies artificial intelligence to explore and identify deposits of cobalt, nickel, copper, and lithium beneath Greenland’s ice, targeting materials for EV batteries and renewable energy. The company was founded by Jeff Jurinak, Josh Goldman, Kurt House, and Kurt Zenz House and began operations roughly four years ago. KoBold has a team of about 30 geologists, geophysicists, and pilots conducting fieldwork on Disko Island and the Nuussuaq Peninsula. Its field program includes soil sampling and aerial scouting with drones and helicopters, and it partners with Bluejay Mining on exploration. The team plans to use AI next summer to pinpoint drilling targets and accelerate discovery. KoBold positions its work as enabling large-scale electrification by finding the critical metals needed for battery production.
- Virridy
Participated · Series A · Jun 2022
Virridy builds sensor hardware and analytics to monitor water, energy and soil processes, including satellite-linked borehole water monitors. The company plans to expand its offering across Africa and North America and will introduce products such as water e-coli sensors and soil carbon sequestration sensors. Its sensors generate data used to enable environmental markets including carbon credits, energy incentives and water permitting. In Africa its technologies are deployed in Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria, supporting government agencies and partners. Virridy’s systems help minimize water-supply breaks and provide continuous supply information to over 4 million people. The company works with partners including NSF, USAID, The World Bank, NASA, the Millennium Water Alliance, Swarm Technologies, The Freshwater Trust, Wexus Technologies and the Kenyan government.
- Planet FWD
Participated · Series A · May 2022
Planet FWD builds a carbon-management platform and an emissions-reduction engine that helps consumer brands model GHG Protocol Scope 3 emissions across supply chains and design lower-emission products. The company expanded its capabilities after acquiring CleanMetrics in 2021 and has assembled what it describes as the largest life-cycle analysis database for agricultural production systems in North America. Planet FWD serves about 25 customers, including Kashi, Pangaia, Just Salad, Numi Organic Tea, Healthy Hippo, Toodaloo and Sweet Loren’s. The startup hired a climate science team to expand its data and modeling and is focused on adding more predictive emissions-reduction features to its product. Time-sensitive regulatory and consumer pressures are cited as drivers of demand for its solution. Financially, the company recently raised a $10M Series A and has raised $16.8M to date. Planet FWD launched Moonshot Snacks, a carbon-neutral, organic, kosher, plant-based, non-GMO and no-sugar-added cracker available in sourdough sea salt, rosemary garlic and tomato basil, priced at $5.99 per box. Moonshot Snacks begins shipping via the company's website, will be available December 16 at plastic-free grocer Zero, and has a broader retail launch planned next year. The company sources ingredients from farmers using regenerative agriculture practices and aims to use consumer demand to encourage more farms to adopt those techniques. Planet FWD is alpha testing a carbon impact assessment tool that breaks down greenhouse-gas impact across packaging, ingredients and distribution and recommends ways to reduce emissions. The startup plans additional products such as cookies and chips, with a roadmap driven by supply-chain opportunities to convert farms to regenerative practices. Financially, Planet FWD announced an additional $2.5 million in funding led by Emerson Collective, Concrete Rose, MCJ Collective and Arlan Hamilton, on top of $2.7 million announced earlier this year, bringing announced funding to $5.2 million; investors also include BBG Ventures, January Ventures and Kapor Capital. Planet FWD builds a climate-friendly food platform and snack brand focused on ingredients sourced from regenerative agriculture. The company has assembled an exhaustive library of farms practicing regenerative techniques and is building software to codify and map that information. Its software is powering the startup’s food production pipeline. Planet FWD’s first product is a cracker scheduled to launch later this year, with chips planned next. The company’s mission is to demonstrate consumer demand for climate-friendly products and to encourage more farmers to adopt regenerative practices. Planet FWD recently closed seed funding to support these efforts.
