- Gritt
Participated · Series A · Jul 2026
Founded by Carnegie Mellon–trained roboticists Puneet Puri (CEO) and Vishal Dugar (CTO), Gritt develops an intelligent software layer that controls off-the-shelf skidders and robotic arms to perform dextrous construction tasks. Its initial deployed application unloads, carries, and positions large glass solar panels with sub-millimeter accuracy; Gritt reports that an eight-person crew with its systems can install 3,000–4,000 panels per day versus roughly 800 panels without them. The company has two systems in the field, three top-10 U.S. power construction companies as customers, and contracts covering 2.8 GW of panel installs over the next 18 months. Gritt plans to scale to about 48 systems in the next six months and expand its task set to include fastening panels, drilling posts, building racks, and other labor-intensive construction tasks like rebar tying. Management positions the product as a generalizable physical-AI layer that can also provide site monitoring and decision-support via its sensor suite.
- Channing Street Copper Company
Participated · Equity · Aug 2025
Copper, led by CEO Sam Calisch, is a Berkeley, CA-based appliances company focused on improving electrification. Its first product is a battery-equipped induction stove that plugs into a regular 120V outlet. The stove enables cooks to upgrade from gas to induction without costly, complex electrical upgrades. The company raised $28M in funding. Copper intends to use the funds to continue to scale its technology platform into additional products. The round was led by Prelude Ventures and included participation from Building Ventures, Voyager, Collaborative Fund, Climactic, Designer Fund, Necessary Ventures, Leap Forward Ventures and Climate Capital. Channing St. Copper’s core product is an Energy Storage Enabled (ESE) induction stove that embeds a modest battery into the appliance to deliver high-performance induction cooking on a normal (120V) outlet, avoiding 240V wiring. The stove includes load-shifting capabilities designed to work with power utilities and to create a network of energy-storage-enabled appliances that plug into standard outlets. Embedding batteries into appliances is intended to eliminate permitting, wiring complexity, and labor costs associated with whole-home battery installs, and to lower the installed cost and installation barriers compared with systems like the Tesla Powerwall. The company positions the product as a fast, cheap pathway to retire gas ranges (the article cites 45 million gas ranges in use) and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while improving public health and safety. Channing St. Copper plans to expand its offering toward whole-home electrification with a suite of ESE appliances including hot water heaters, mini-split/heat-pump air conditioners, and clothes dryers. The LinkedIn post congratulates Eric Wilhelm, Sam Calisch, and the Channing St. Copper team for the milestone.
- Soil Action
Participated · Seed · Aug 2025
Soil Action provides a platform that combines near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) with proprietary machine learning models to detect the form and availability of soil nutrients in real time. Its system reads soil as a tractor moves, processes the data on the fly, and builds layered maps of nutrient dynamics without a lab. The company plans to expand field trials with farmers across key U.S. row crop regions and pursue grower collaboration to validate agronomic impact. It intends to accelerate model development and validation while scaling field deployment and engineering teams. Soil Action also plans partnerships with OEMs, input providers, and agronomic platforms to integrate its sensing and modeling capabilities. The company is led by CEO Nate Storey and recently completed a seed financing to support these initiatives.

- CapeZero
Participated · Seed · Jan 2025
CapeZero offers a software platform that standardizes the complex process of securing and structuring tax equity and project financing for clean energy developers. The product streamlines financial models, provides real-time scenario analysis, and standardizes analytics, reducing modeling time from months to minutes and enabling project finance teams to move 50–75% faster on deals. It targets the bottleneck of bespoke, manual project-finance processes that require highly specialized professionals. With the recently closed seed round, CapeZero plans to accelerate go-to-market initiatives and enhance its core platform offering. The company was founded in 2023 and its founding team has deep renewable energy finance and technology experience, having structured and advised on over $16 billion in capital deployment and closed more than 60 deals totaling 11 GW of capacity. CapeZero aims to democratize access to tax equity financing and speed deployment of renewable energy projects.
