The studio is developing Nyan Heroes, a next-generation hero shooter with cat-inspired IP, eight guardian classes, mech combat, and objective-driven team play. The game leverages Unreal Engine 5 and blockchain to enable true asset ownership and support a creator economy. Nyan Heroes entered early access from March 26 to April 9, and the studio added airdrop missions granting community access to NYAN, the token that powers the ecosystem. 9 Lives raised a $3 million financing to accelerate development and broaden adoption of the title. The team includes veterans from EA, Bungie, and Ubisoft and advisors from Twitch and Riot Games who have shipped AAA multiplayer and live-service titles. Nyan Heroes is a Singapore-based studio developing a play-to-earn game on the Solana blockchain that features cute cats in deadly robots. The company says it will use new funding to hire more people and expand community outreach as it finalizes development. In May 2023 Nyan Heroes raised $7.5 million in a strategic round that values the company at $100 million. Investors in the round included Kosmos Ventures, Sino Global Capital, Shima Capital and Petrock Capital. The studio previously raised $2.5 million in a seed round in late 2021 led by Three Arrows Capital, Mechanism Capital and Defiance Capital.
