  Touchwaves, founded by Charlotte Kjellander and Martin Romero as a spin-off from Dutch research institute TNO, builds next-generation wearable haptics that deliver intuitive, non-invasive tactile feedback to users operating in high-workload settings. The system is initially aimed at fighter-jet pilots and is being co-developed with the Dutch Ministry of Defence, the Royal Netherlands Air and Space Forces, and the Center for Man in Aviation to reduce human-factor errors and improve mission effectiveness. Designed as a dual-use platform, the company envisions the same technology supporting elite sports training, ground operations, and healthcare applications such as breathing guidance and stress resilience. The startup’s long-term goal is to establish haptics as a core human–machine interface wherever cognitive load and stress are high. Touchwaves has secured €1.5 million in pre-seed capital to accelerate product development and expand its use-case roadmap. No revenue or user figures have been disclosed to date, and the company remains in its early development phase.

  Sirius Medical develops the Sirius Pintuition surgical navigation platform and GPSDetect software to enable wire‑free localization for breast‑conserving surgery. The Pintuition system is CE marked and FDA cleared and has been praised by breast cancer surgeons. The company traces its roots to the Netherlands Cancer Institute and reports adoption in over 250 centers and 35,000 procedures globally. Sirius Medical is focused on improving usability and extending applications of its platform. The company announced it secured €10M in additional scale‑up funding to support product development and global expansion. The investment will also be used to bolster sales infrastructure and enter new markets. Sirius Medical develops Pintuition, a surgical marker navigation system that gives surgeons real-time distance and directional guidance to locate tumors. The company is led by CEO Bram Schermers and is focused on improving care for cancer patients by enabling precise and efficient tumor removal. Pintuition is active in over 100 centers with more than 5,000 procedures across Western Europe and the US. Sirius experienced revenue growth in 2022 and has built an international sales network in Europe and the USA. The company plans to use new funding to accelerate worldwide growth of Pintuition, support further product development, and expand commercial roll-out. Sirius Medical has commercially launched the Sirius Pintuition System, a localisation platform designed to help surgeons pinpoint breast tumours during surgery. The system is CE marked and Sirius is pursuing FDA clearance. The Pintuition seed can be placed up to 180 days before surgery and the intraoperative probe gives real-time feedback and directional guidance to marked tissue. Sirius positions Pintuition as an easy-to-use, affordable alternative to metal anchor wires and radioactive seeds, aiming to improve hospital workflow and surgical accuracy. The company is developing a pipeline of complementary products and indications alongside the commercial rollout. Management says recent funding will be used to execute growth plans and advance the product pipeline.
