- Foamlab
Participated · Equity · Apr 2026
Founded in 2024 and originating from research at Delft University of Technology’s Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, Foamlab develops a class of foams made from bacterial cellulose produced through fermentation. The company says its materials range from soft, textile-like sheets to rigid structural foams and are bio-based and compostable. Foamlab highlights control over nanoscale structure via microbial biofabrication to tune mechanical, acoustic, and aesthetic properties. Founders include CEO Jeroen van Rotterdam and Scientific Advisor Professor Elvin Karana. Current plans supported by the recent financing include building a pilot plant, scaling production, serving early customers, and accelerating commercial rollout. The company targets applications across construction insulation, furniture, fashion, and packaging as alternatives to fossil- and mineral-based foams.
- Proba
Participated · Equity · Jan 2026
Proba operates a certification platform that turns fertilizer-related greenhouse-gas reductions into traceable, financeable assets for agri-food companies. Its core product is an independently verified "Impact Unit," each representing 1 tCO₂e of reduction that aligns with SBTi and the GHG Protocol’s FLAG guidance and is recorded in a registry for full traceability. The company targets nitrogen-fertilizer emissions, which account for roughly 5 % of global GHG output, and focuses on major crop value chains such as coffee, corn, potatoes, and sugar. By addressing barriers like cost and misaligned incentives among producers, traders, and food brands, Proba aims to make Scope 3 reductions standard practice across complex supply chains. The platform enables companies to generate compliant, credible Scope 3 claims while accelerating adoption of proven low-carbon fertilizer solutions. With the new €1.25 million infusion, Proba plans to expand certification and financing services into the United States and Brazil—two of the world’s largest agricultural markets. Existing backers Future Food Fund, Yield Lab Europe, and Value Factory Ventures returned to fund this growth. The raise underscores investor confidence in Proba’s model and its momentum in delivering measurable climate impact.
- Struck
Led · Seed · Nov 2025
Founded in 2024 and based in Amsterdam, Struck has built an artificial-intelligence platform that digitises and automates building-code analysis. The software offers instant insights into the regulations relevant to a project and will soon automatically verify whether architectural designs meet legal and environmental standards. By streamlining compliance checks, Struck aims to shorten permitting timelines, reduce development costs and encourage more sustainable construction practices. The company already serves thousands of users—including municipalities, builders, developers and architects—and is considered a leading compliance tool in the Netherlands. Its feature set includes an extensive AI library of building codes and an automated permit-exemption checker. With fresh capital, Struck plans to enhance its product and expand into additional European markets where regulatory complexity hampers development.
- Thuysvers
Led · Equity · Oct 2025
Thuysvers is an online meal-delivery platform launched during the pandemic by founder Pieter Duijs. The company partners with specialized food producers, consolidates dishes in a Utrecht distribution center, and relies on third-party providers for order picking and last-mile delivery, giving it an asset-light, Uber-like model. Its menu lists more than 50 dishes, with traditional Dutch stamppots such as boerenkool met worst and hutspot met bal consistently topping sales, alongside Indonesian offerings. Thuysvers currently serves customers across the Netherlands, is expanding revenue at roughly 90% per year, and is on track to reach €10 million in turnover. Management aims to make the brand synonymous with healthy convenience food, comparable to Thuisbezorgd or HelloFresh. To support this ambition, the team intends to invest heavily in marketing, increase customer density per street, set up local delivery hubs, and further scale the platform and staff.
- Cano-ela
Participated · Equity · Mar 2025
Cano-ela, founded in 2020 and based in Ede in the Food Valley, processes oil-rich seeds to recover proteins, carbohydrates, and fats otherwise lost in conventional oil extraction. The company produces three ingredients—cano-cream, cano-soluble and cano-fiber—designed to improve taste, texture, and nutrition in foods and alternative proteins. Cano-ela positions these natural extracts as clean-label substitutes for synthetic emulsifiers, stabilisers, and texturisers. The startup says its approach addresses a roughly 40% loss of potential food ingredients from current processing methods. With recent funding, Cano-ela plans to upgrade its pilot facility, increase production capacity, and accelerate collaborations with food producers. Previous investments enabled proof-of-concept work and R&D as the company moves toward commercial launch.
