  • Oktogrid

    Led · Equity · Jul 2026

Founded in Copenhagen in 2019, Oktogrid builds a patented magnetic-adhesion sensor and an AI-driven software platform to monitor transformer condition, predict faults, recommend maintenance, optimise capacity and estimate remaining life. Its sensor installs in under 15 minutes and collects acoustic and operational signatures fed into the company’s analytics platform. The company reports more than 45 customers, including 12 utilities added in the last 24 months, deployments across three continents, monitoring of over 1 GW of critical infrastructure and over 5 million hours of transformer data in production. Oktogrid says its technology has detected 26 early faults, freed more than 8,600 hours of technical work, unlocked 198 MVA of additional capacity and extended monitored asset life by an average of 15 years. With the new €4 million round, Oktogrid intends to scale internationally, expand its fleet-management product capabilities and enter low-voltage distribution grid markets to broaden its addressable market.

  • Splight

    Participated · Seed · Jul 2024

Splight is a San Francisco–headquartered grid technology company that deploys machine-learning solutions through its Dynamic Congestion Management™ (DCM) product. DCM ingests real-time grid data and uses a proprietary ML algorithm to turn Fast-Responding Assets (FRAs) such as battery storage and data centers into operational tools that can reliably unlock up to 100% more transmission capacity versus traditional approaches. The company reports over 3 gigawatts of grid assets under management and has offices in Texas, Chile, and Spain. Splight plans to accelerate DCM deployments across the U.S. and Europe and to launch new technical capabilities including AI-Enabled Electrical Studies for Data Centers, enhanced DCM algorithms, a DCM Sandbox modeling tool, and Real-Time Simulation (RTS). It will also expand its San Francisco headquarters along the Embarcadero and grow its Bay Area technology and product teams. Commercially, Splight targets utilities, renewable developers, and large loads to reduce curtailment, shorten interconnection timelines, increase reliability, and maximize use of existing transmission infrastructure. Splight is a San Francisco, CA-based AI startup developing AI-based technology for advanced grid operations that tackles congestion using inverter-based resources (IBRs). Its platform aims to reduce curtailment and accelerate the connection of utility-scale renewable power plants as well as the deployment of distributed energy resources (DERs) and batteries. The company was founded by Thomas Vadora, Fernando Llaver, and Carlos Caldart. Splight raised $12M in Seed funding. It intends to use the funds to expand its North America and EU presence and to grow its development, implementation, and leadership teams.

  • unusuals

    Led · Seed · Jun 2024

Unusuals applies artificial intelligence to automate visual inspection and anomaly detection on linear infrastructures such as power lines and railways. Its solution combines computer vision for asset visualization, machine‑learning models for fault detection, and generative models to create synthetic images to improve training data. The company has been working with Red Eléctrica (a Redeia subsidiary) as the provider for anomaly detection on its transmission lines and is jointly developing a synthetic‑image project with them. Founded in 2016, Unusuals has participated in Elewit’s venture client program and won Elewit’s Data Challenge 2020, which led to a pilot testing its detection capabilities. The startup intends to continue refining its algorithms and to expand internationally and into adjacent sectors such as wind generation and telecommunications operators.

  • Nearby Computing

    Led · Seed · Dec 2020

Nearby Computing builds an orchestration and automation platform, NearbyOne, that manages edge computing deployments including MEC environments and private 5G networks. The platform targets industrial companies and telco operators and supports use cases such as Connected Vehicle, massive IoT, retail, and defense and security. The company says its solution manages all levels of the network ecosystem through a single interface to maximize edge benefits. Nearby reports rapid market traction and plans to expand its market coverage and sales force to accelerate adoption. The firm intends to consolidate leadership across North America, Asia‑Pacific and Europe. Its strategy emphasizes empowering companies and service providers with advanced edge computing and software automation solutions. Nearby Computing, founded in 2018 as a spin-off of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS) and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), builds orchestration and automation software for networks with a focus on Edge Computing and 5G. The company develops tools to deploy and maintain virtual network functions and high-value applications such as computer vision, augmented reality and IoT, optimizing resource efficiency and guaranteeing service levels. Its products target telco operators, industry (Industry 4.0), utilities, smart-city deployments and connected-vehicle networks. By 2020 Nearby Computing had commercial activity in Spain, elsewhere in Europe, North America and the Middle East and maintains a broad partner network. The approximately €2M raised in the seed round will be used to reinforce growth by scaling global commercialization, consolidating projects, expanding R&D capacity and improving customer service. Investors will also collaborate on commercialization in their markets and integrate the startup into advanced innovation programs.
