  • metr

    Participated · Series B · Aug 2026

metr develops a KI-based platform that centralizes energy management and heating optimization and can be connected to existing heating systems to reduce energy consumption without major renovations. Its customers include owners, housing companies, asset managers and corporate real estate clients, with more than 80 customers currently using the platform. The company reported revenue growth of over 80% in 2025 versus the prior year and a Net Retention Rate above 140%, indicating strong customer satisfaction and expansion within its base. metr plans to use its new funding to further build out its AI platform, open a new hub in Leipzig to optimise supply chains and customer support, and prepare for international expansion. The company aims to become a leading European platform for intelligent energy management in existing buildings.

  • Intu Diagnostics

    Led · Equity · Jun 2026

Founded in 2023 in Leipzig, Intu Diagnostics has built an all-in-one diagnostic cartridge that detects pathogen genetic material with PCR-level accuracy without needing a lab, power source, reader, app, or trained staff. Users collect a sample, insert it into the cartridge, and read a colour change within roughly 30 minutes; the kit includes all required components. The startup plans to launch consumer tests in 2027 and aims to expand its platform beyond HPV to respiratory viruses (COVID-19, RSV, flu) and later to STIs, malaria, and tuberculosis. A prototype of the technology was tested in 2020 in Tanzania in collaboration with the Kilimanjaro Clinical Research Institute to diagnose eye infections caused by Chlamydia trachomatis. Financially, the company has raised over €3 million to date, including a €1.8 million pre-seed in 2024 and the recent €1.1 million bridge. Current priorities include securing IP, developing a manufacturable cartridge, running pilot manufacturing trials, and preparing for a seed round.

  • Primogene

    Participated · Seed · Apr 2026

Primogene develops and operates an enzymatic biomanufacturing platform to produce structurally complex biomolecules identical to their natural counterparts, including HMOs like DSLNT and difucosyllacto‑N‑tetraose I. The company manages the full value chain—enzyme development and production, biotransformation, and downstream processing—at its facility in Leipzig. It emphasizes enzymatic processes to overcome limitations of fermentation approaches and to enable scalable, cost‑efficient production of complex ingredients. Primogene holds an IP portfolio across several product categories and has established commercial partnerships in the personal care sector while pharmaceutical raw materials are in advanced customer evaluation. Founded in 2023, the company is expanding production capacity, growing its team, and seeking joint development partners among infant formula and functional food manufacturers. It is also collaborating with Fraunhofer IZI on infection‑prevention research and working with neonatal intensive care units to monitor HMO concentrations in breast milk.

  • aevoloop

    Participated · Grant · Oct 2025

Founded in 2024 in Leipzig, aevoloop has created a patented chemistry that introduces selectively cleavable bonds into polyethylene and polypropylene chains, allowing the materials to be broken back down into virgin-grade monomers at end-of-life. The resulting plastics match the mechanical properties and processing profiles of conventional polyolefins, so they can run on existing extruders and injection-moulding lines without cost penalties. Because the polymers are also biodegradable, the platform targets both macro- and microplastic pollution. Initial application areas include packaging, films, injection-moulded parts and textiles, with the company aiming to scale toward industrial production and broaden use cases across the plastic value chain. aevoloop is collaborating with the Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research, Leipzig University and the Center for the Transformation of Chemistry under the “Saxy Plastics” project to accelerate R&D and commercialization. The startup just secured about €8 million in fresh capital—€3.25 million in seed equity plus nearly €5 million in public co-funding—providing runway for pilot production and market launch activities.

  • Skeleton Technologies

    Participated · Equity · Mar 2021

Founded in 2009, Skeleton Technologies develops supercapacitor-based energy storage systems built on its patented Curved Graphene technology and claims to be the world’s largest manufacturer of supercapacitors for mission-critical infrastructure. Its flagship offering, GrapheneGPU, is targeted at high-density AI computing environments and the company says it reduces energy consumption by 40% while increasing computing power by 40%. Skeleton operates mass-scale manufacturing in Germany and a one-gigawatt SuperBattery factory in Finland and is preparing to expand production to the United States. The company holds protection through 70 patent families and says it now has the largest engineering and R&D teams in the high-power energy storage sector. Financially, the firm has raised a total of €392 million in venture capital ahead of a planned U.S. IPO in 2027.
