Forerunner offers a unified, map-driven geospatial system of record that consolidates property, asset, and regulatory data into a single, searchable platform for government users. Its software automates complex workflows through configurable approvals, conditional logic, and compliance checks, while AI-powered document intelligence extracts and validates data from uploaded files to produce audit-ready records. Native iOS and Android apps support mobile field operations with offline functionality, and public-facing portals allow residents to view risk information and submit applications. Flexible reporting and data analysis tools enable agencies to filter and analyze information across properties, records, and workflows. The company serves customers in 26 U.S. states, including California, Texas, Florida, Louisiana, and New Jersey. Proceeds from recent funding will be used to scale operations and accelerate product development.

The article does not report revenue or user counts.
- Tetra
Led · Seed · Dec 2023
Tetra is an NYC-based home services company focused on helping homeowners switch from fossil-fuel heating and cooling systems to high-efficiency heat pumps. It has developed a proprietary technology platform that lets homeowners enter their address, get an instant price, and see available state and federal incentives. The platform matches customers with qualified, vetted local contractors and creates efficiency across each step of the installation process. Led by CEO and founder Max Veggeberg, Tetra aims to accelerate clean-energy adoption for homeowners. Veggeberg previously founded HomeWorks Energy and grew it to over $100M in revenue. The company plans to expand into new markets including New York and California and continue investing in its technology using the proceeds from the recent fundraise.
- Simply Homes
Led · Equity · Dec 2023
Simply Homes is a Portland, Maine–based startup that acquires, renovates and manages single-family homes to provide long-term affordable rentals to very low-income families, the elderly, disabled and Section-8 voucher holders. Founded in 2020, the company spent its first years building a technology platform and began buying homes in January of this year. It uses machine learning and HUD data to underwrite acquisitions rapidly and claims predictable income through the Housing Choice Voucher program. By the end of the month it expects to have 108 units in its portfolio, and since its first-quarter launch it has seen revenue grow by more than 50% quarter over quarter. Simply Homes operates an operating company/property company structure, collects rents and charges a transaction fee plus a 3% ongoing portfolio management fee. The company says it underwrites for worst-case, high-interest-rate scenarios and plans to use new capital to build AI-powered virtual analysts and expand into new markets including Baltimore, additional Ohio markets and St. Louis.
- BuildCasa
Led · Seed · Aug 2023
BuildCasa operates a service that helps homeowners build and sell backyard homes (ADUs) by partnering with local builders and handling the entire lot split and sale process, including permitting, surveying, architectural design, mortgage-lender coordination, and finding buyers. The company leverages proprietary data-science tools to identify eligible homeowners and lots, assess project feasibility, and determine the type of BuildCasa-designed home suitable for each property. BuildCasa is not a construction firm; it outsources building to local contractors while owning the end-to-end customer experience. The startup recently emerged from stealth and has signed agreements with 30 homeowners; it reports an average city planning approval time of 49 days using its streamlined permitting automation. BuildCasa says homeowners can earn up to six figures from lot sales, and the product has particular resonance with seniors on fixed incomes; high interest rates have also created a tailwind as homeowners seek ways to tap equity without giving up low mortgages. The company is expanding beyond its initial Sacramento market into the Bay Area and the Inland Empire.
