VeriQuantix is an early-stage quantum cyber-security company commercialising patented technology that creates two identical photons, keeps one locally and sends the other through a fibre-optic link to detect any interference and thereby confirm data integrity. The system will ship first as hardware, with accompanying software that analyses wavelength changes to identify specific attacks such as data siphoning for future decryption. Invented by Dr Marcelo de Almeida, Professor Andrew White, Dr Till Weinhold and Dr Michael Harvey, the technology holds a 2022 provisional patent that management cites as a key competitive moat. With the newly raised capital, the team is building a demonstration unit and aims to validate performance on a commercial network within 12 months. The roadmap then calls for a rack-mount product for data-centre deployment the following year, followed by miniaturisation and potential licensing to large global equipment vendors. CEO Paul Butler, a 25-year startup veteran, is leading the push toward these milestones. The company is pre-revenue and fully focused on R&D and prototype development.

Joyned is a Jerusalem, Israel–based travel tech company that enables customers to book trips, vacations, and holidays together through a cross-website, live booking experience. Its AI-based social revenue platform analyzes and identifies consumer group-buying intent and delivers actionable insights into buyers’ decision-making, intent, group dynamics, conversations, and activities. The platform empowers travel sites of all sizes to host social engagements on-site and is used by global online travel agencies, hotel chains, booking sites, and travel tech providers to optimize revenue, conversions, and customer lifetime value. Led by CEO Jonathan Abraham, Joyned says it has signed agreements with leading travel brands and that the solution has had impact on their businesses. The company raised $8M in a Series A and plans to use the funds for product development, consolidating growth in international markets, business development, and driving sales and growth in new verticals. Joyned positions itself as bridging the gap between users’ desire for shared experiences and the ability to book together. Joyned (formerly Gamitee) provides a plug-and-play JavaScript solution for merchants—compatible with Shopify and other sites—that adds a “shop with me” button to enable shared shopping carts, mood boards and real-time conversation. The product is designed to keep shoppers on a retailer’s site while inviting friends to collaborate, narrowing the gap between online and offline shopping. Joyned reports tangible merchant impact: average sales increases of 6–15%, retention gains up to 250%, and traffic boosts of about 40% after social invitations. Over the last year the company launched its platform and saw sales grow to close to $500,000, with a target of $1 million in sales. The founders are CEO Jonathan Abraham and co-founder Michael Levinson; Abraham conceived the idea four years ago while planning his wedding. The company plans large-scale U.S. expansion, including building a marketing team in Florida and adding sales and support functions, and is preparing to pursue a Series A.

Wimp 2 Warrior runs a mixed martial arts (MMA) gym program and is building a digital platform to increase engagement and participation. The business is rolling out platform technology across 140-plus participating gyms in nine countries, including Australia, the UK and the USA. The platform is being trialed by several gyms to drive customer acquisition and retention, with plans to launch B2C MMA fitness and training programs people can follow at home. CEO and co-founder Nick Langton said the pandemic prevented the business from reaching eight-figure revenue in 2020, and that new capital will accelerate technology development, global growth and senior hires. Former Winning Group tech executive James Fleet has signed on as chief technology officer to manage the global roll-out. Co-founder John Kavanagh says a W2W distribution strategy could add 30–40% to partner gyms' top-line revenue and help popularise MMA similarly to CrossFit.
