Its first commercial product, Lactopi Start, launched in France and Belgium and is approved for organic farming in five EU member states to aid early growth and phosphorus uptake. The company collected urine from almost 2 million EU citizens via waterless urinals at motorway rest areas, theme parks, and festival partnerships across several countries. Toopi plans to scale with a first full-scale industrial site in France in 2025, a second in Belgium, and two additional factories later in the EU. It will launch 120 agronomic trials across six target member states to test products on local crops and begin exports. Founded in 2019 and based in France, Toopi collects urine from motorway rest areas, theme parks, festivals and other public sites through partnerships such as VINCI Autoroutes, Futuroscope and WC Loc. The company holds regulatory approval from ANSES and is authorized to market its product in Belgium, Greece, Spain, Italy and Portugal. With the new €16M financing (an €11M Series A plus €5M in non-dilutive government funds), Toopi plans to expand its urine-collection network, launch three new urine-based products, hire a sales team and build two industrial sites in France and Belgium. By 2027 the startup aims to collect and convert more than 2 million liters of urine and have its biostimulants on 600,000 hectares of European crops.
