Based in the UK, Atto reports over 13,000 bank connections giving access to 1.5bn users in more than 45 countries and has doubled both headcount and revenue over the last year. The company completed a $3M bridge round to fund ambitious growth plans and international expansion. MiiCard provides an online identity verification service that validates users by linking to their online bank accounts and other accounts rather than relying solely on self-attested information. The system uses Yodlee for its banking connectivity and is VeriSign Trusted and TRUSTe certified. Users can attach social networking accounts and place their MiiCard on marketplaces or profiles (for example eBay, Craigslist, or Twitter). The company recently launched a third-party Twitter validation system to let any user verify their account.
