  • Neubond

    Neubond develops a forearm-worn wristband and companion app that detect faint muscle electrical signals and deliver sensory biofeedback to help rebuild neural connections after stroke. The platform was developed from over a decade of research in Imperial College London’s Neuromechanics and Rehabilitation Technology lab and was founded by Dr Patrick Sagastegui Alva and Jumpei Kashiwakura with Professor Dario Farina as a co-founder. In a 15-patient pilot, users experienced a 30% increase in range of motion after one month, and the company is running a clinical feasibility study at Charing Cross Hospital to prepare for a randomized controlled trial. Neubond raised £1.5 million in seed funding to finalise the device, pursue MHRA certification, and support its clinical programme. The company is positioning its regulatory and commercial approach toward NHS adoption and exploring broader applications of its neural interface in areas like exoskeleton control.

    Nanofiber Quantum Technologies (NanoQT) is a quantum-hardware company focused on building nanofiber cavity-QED interconnects that seamlessly integrate with neutral-atom quantum processing units (QPUs). These ultra-low-loss interconnects are designed to enable scalable, modular, and networked quantum computers while remaining compatible with quantum communication infrastructure. The firm is headquartered in Palo Alto, California, and operates engineering and manufacturing sites in College Park, Maryland, and Tokyo, Japan. To date, NanoQT has benefited from more than US$20 million in government R&D grants across Japan and the United States, supporting its technical roadmap. With the new capital, the company plans to demonstrate a distributed quantum computing system that links QPUs over standard fiber, productize its interconnect technology, and scale its engineering and manufacturing capacity. Management is led by CEO and co-founder Masashi Hirose, Ph.D., who is steering a global commercialization strategy that leverages both U.S. and Japanese ecosystems.

Blue Laser Fusion intends to use the funds to expand R&D operations in the Santa Barbara area and Tokyo to develop its prototype commercial reactor.
