TROES Corp designs and manufactures modular Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and in-house cloud software to deliver turnkey “Microgrid-in-a-Box” solutions for commercial, industrial, and institutional customers. The company is developing a mobile portable EV charging project that integrates a 533 kWh BESS, a 50 kW solar array, two level 2 chargers, and a 100 kW DC fast charger mounted on a 53 ft flatbed truck with deployable solar panels and microgrid controls. The system is intended for non-urban environments to enable EV charging without permanent infrastructure and to reduce strain on existing power grids. TROES is partnering with U.S.-based Day & Night Solar on the demonstration and jointly applied for funding through the Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network (OVIN). The project has received funding support from the Ontario Centre of Innovation as part of a total $1.5 million raise. TROES says the program will help create hundreds of new jobs in Ontario and advance its goal of accelerating the transition from a centralized to a decentralized grid. TROES is a Battery Energy Storage and Microgrid Control technology firm offering New Energy solutions to commercial, industrial and institutional customers. The company uses patented modularized energy storage hardware and software to integrate renewable sources into existing infrastructure and to unlock projects for middle‑market project developers, power distributors, and power consumers. TROES is based in Markham, Ontario. In March 2021 the company completed a $1 million seed round to fund product development, sales expansion, and general corporate purposes. The seed financing was led by a Texas‑based family office and the York Angel Investor Group, with contributions from institutional funds including Artesian, High Park Angels, Launchub, OPN, New Brunswick Innovation Fund, Golden properties, BDC and others. In April the company also received non‑dilutive seed funding from Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC).
