Airis Labs builds an AI platform that converts unstructured visual data from smartphones, drones, CCTV, body cameras and social media into structured intelligence consumable by analysts and AI agents. Founded in 2023 and based in Washington, D.C., the company positions this capability as a new category called User-Generated Field Intelligence and was operational in real-world conditions within months of founding. Airis sells enterprise subscription software to government and public safety customers, with pricing tied to mission scope, data volumes and support requirements. The company has been selected to join the Oracle Defense Ecosystem. Airis emerged from stealth after raising $60 million in total funding and a $31 million Series B led by PSG Equity. It currently employs about 45 people across the U.S. and Israel and plans to double headcount by year-end, focusing hires on engineering, product and customer deployment.

Matta develops a self-learning computer-vision platform that rapidly adapts to diverse manufacturing lines and performs automated quality inspection, anomaly detection, root-cause diagnosis, and corrective-action recommendations. The system combines hardware, factory integration, AI research, and software, allowing most deployments to become operational within hours and to learn a new line in a matter of days with minimal training data. A central dashboard lets engineers monitor every camera, trace parts, and surface bottlenecks across the factory floor, turning tacit human know-how into scalable, data-driven insights. The technology is general-purpose, working across electronics, automotive, defence, apparel, and both manual and robotic stations, and Matta is already collaborating with OEMs so machines can automatically adjust their own settings. With its “sentient factory” vision, the company aims to deliver increasingly autonomous, end-to-end production. The recent $14 million seed financing provides resources to accelerate product rollout, enhance AI capabilities, build self-serve deployment tools, and expand into key manufacturing regions in Europe and the United States.

Modulight Biotherapeutics is pioneering an optogenetic platform that enables cell-type and pathway-specific control of neuronal activity using proprietary light-sensitive proteins. Its lead asset, eOPN3, is a hypersensitive inhibitory opsin designed for clinical use and is initially being advanced for trigeminal pain, a severe and often drug-resistant facial pain disorder. Preclinical studies have also demonstrated promising efficacy in animal models of epilepsy and movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease and essential tremor, underscoring the platform’s broader therapeutic potential. The company’s technology is licensed from YEDA, the commercial arm of the Weizmann Institute of Science, bolstering its scientific foundation. With the recently secured $12.2 million seed round, Modulight plans to complete IND-enabling studies, scale manufacturing, and begin FDA discussions for its first clinical program. The funding will also support expansion of its therapeutic pipeline and acceleration of additional preclinical programs. While still pre-revenue, the fresh capital positions the company to transition from discovery research toward initial human trials.
