To finance this, Calix secured staged funding commitments from Rio Tinto alongside a large grant from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA). Its proprietary core-scanning robot captures high-resolution multi-sensor data and uses machine vision and AI algorithms to convert scans into key rock properties. The platform's cloud-based digital rock viewing and analysis software provides AI-enhanced digital rock twins and automated digital geoscience workflows. This approach reduces the need for costly laboratory testing and subjective manual interpretation. GeologicAI is working with leading mining and exploration companies and is deploying robots globally. The company is accelerating global expansion, with a robot en route to Australia and additional units being prepared for shipment to Finland, Brazil, and Chile. Financially, the company announced an additional US$10M from Export Development Canada as an extension to its Series A, bringing the total round to US$30M.
