The company says it has more than 5 million registered job seekers, has delivered over 100 million candidate applications to 400,000+ predominantly small-business hirers, and has had 1M+ jobs posted. Founded in 2015, Job Today currently operates in Spain and the UK. The startup integrated with Google Jobs (launched in the UK in July 2018) and saw 101% user growth in the first month after integration. It plans to use the new funding to expand its presence in the UK and is positioning for a potential Brexit-driven increase in demand for casual labour. Job Today is a Luxembourg-based mobile app that matches blue-collar jobseekers and employers using location-based search and in-app chat. The app emphasizes speed and simplicity as an alternative to CV-style recruitment and competes with CornerJob, Jobandtalent, inploi and Gig. It currently operates in the U.K. and Spain, where it has more than 2.5 million registered users and over 200,000 registered employers. The platform processes about one million job applications per week. Job Today closed a $20 million Series B last November and has now struck a $35 million media-for-equity agreement to gain broadcast and other advertising inventory. The company plans to focus on solidifying leadership in the U.K. and Spain over the next six months and to launch in Germany later this year, using broadcaster partners to help enter additional markets. Job Today operates a mobile jobs marketplace focused on the hospitality, retail and services sectors, offering an app used by small businesses and large brands such as McDonald’s, Starbucks, Pizza Hut, Subway and Holiday Inn. The platform is led by CEO Eugene Mizin and COO Polina Montano. It processes close to one million job applications every week in its primary markets of the UK and Spain. The company has raised $30m in total funding to date. Job Today intends to use the newly raised capital to continue expanding operations into the US and across major European countries. The product emphasizes rapid matching between employers and candidates via mobile-first workflows. JobToday offers a low-friction, location-based mobile app that replaces traditional CVs with brief profiles and a messaging interface to speed hiring in retail, hospitality, delivery and other service sectors. Candidates and employers create basic profiles listing key details (language skills, availability, last job) and then connect via chat, with the company pledging responses within 24 hours. The app launched in Spain in April of the prior year and is now active in major Spanish cities and newly launched in London and Paris. JobToday reports about 20,000 employers signed up, an estimated 10,000 jobs filled since launch, and two million job applications processed. It is not currently charging employers to list jobs, focusing first on marketplace scale before monetization. The company plans to use new funding to strengthen positions in existing markets and tailor its product for new cities in 2016.

Founded in 2013 and based in Cambridge, MA, clypd operates an exchange for interactive television and video advertising. The company’s platform is designed to help agencies, publishers and ad networks drive engagement through contextually relevant ads on interactive televisions. clypd was founded by CEO Joshua Summers and Doug Hurd. Its technology focuses on matching video inventory with interactive ad formats to increase viewer engagement. The company completed a Series A financing, reflecting early-stage commercial and investor interest.
