PINC Technologies, a 2023 Caltech spin-out headquartered in Pasadena, CA, is building an integrated nonlinear photonics platform that makes high-performance light-based computing and communications practical at scale. Its chips and circuits target demanding use cases such as quantum information processing, next-generation data networks, biomedical sensing, and other industrial photonics systems. The company leverages research breakthroughs from the Caltech Nonlinear Photonics Laboratory to overcome long-standing scalability limits in nonlinear optics. Management plans to expand the engineering team, accelerate product development, and forge industrial collaborations to move the technology from lab prototypes to commercial deployment. PINC has raised a cumulative $6.8 million to fund these efforts, positioning the company to deliver critical enabling components for the emerging quantum and photonic ecosystems.

Scinvivo is developing an imaging platform built around a forward-looking OCT catheter that visualizes human morphological tissue structure a few millimetres deep at high resolution. The company aims to make cancer diagnostics faster and more accurate, reduce unnecessary surgeries, and enable more precise minimally invasive procedures and personalized treatment. It has closed a €4.7 million financing comprising equity investment and an Innovatiekrediet loan from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RvO). Scinvivo will use the funds to improve the catheter, OCT system, and software so the product is clinic-ready and appealing to urologists, and to perform clinical trials to prove clinical benefits. The team will also prepare documentation to obtain CE certification and develop a go-to-market strategy to launch the OCT imaging platform commercially. Bladder cancer has been chosen as the first clinical indication, with reviewers seeing the technology as a potential game changer in diagnostic routines.

PRISM BioLab develops small-molecule inhibitors that target protein–protein interactions (PPIs) using its proprietary PepMetics® chemistry platform. PepMetics® are chemical scaffolds that mimic three-dimensional alpha‑helix and beta‑turn peptide structures commonly found at PPI interfaces, and the company combines this chemistry with AI‑supported design. PRISM has spent over a decade developing these scaffolds to enable systematic and reproducible discovery of drugs against challenging PPI targets, with the goal of creating oral small‑molecule alternatives to injectable biologics. The company is collaborating with global and Japanese pharmaceutical firms, and PepMetics® programs targeting CBP/beta‑catenin PPIs have been licensed to Eisai and Ohara and are in clinical development for cancer and liver disease. PRISM plans to use the new funding to refine its PepMetics® chemistry platform, expand biology and screening capabilities, and advance its internal pipeline. The financing totaled ¥1.5 billion ($10.3M) and included participation from Eli Lilly and Santec Holdings Corporation.
