  • Lidwave

    Participated · Seed · Oct 2024

Lidwave develops 4D LiDAR-on-chip sensors built around its proprietary Finite Coherent Ranging (FCR™) technology, integrating lasers, amplifiers, receivers and optical routing onto a single chip. The company’s coherent sensing method provides pixel-level Doppler (velocity) data alongside depth information. Lidwave plans to further develop its optical chip and launch what it calls the industry’s first software-definable 4D LiDAR sensor. The technology is positioned to reduce the cost, complexity, and reliability issues associated with legacy LiDAR systems. Lidwave is collaborating with OEMs, Tier‑1 suppliers, and major players in industrial automation and smart infrastructure to drive adoption. The company says it will seek additional partnerships to scale production and extend its technology across industries to improve safety and automation.

  • Enzymit

    Participated · Seed · Apr 2022

Enzymit is developing a computational design platform to engineer "new-to-nature" enzymes for enzymatic manufacturing. The company uses these designer enzymes in a cell-free production process to avoid cellular fermentation issues such as toxicity, side products, sub-optimal enzyme ratios, and varying temperature optima. Enzymit's platform aims to replace inefficient and polluting chemical reactions and enable manufacture of complex molecules and materials that are otherwise impossible. With the new $5 million seed financing, Enzymit plans to accelerate development of its computational tools and expand its product pipeline, including a novel enzymatic process to convert atmospheric carbon into bio-polymers. The article frames this effort against the $100 billion biomanufacturing industry and the $4 trillion global chemical industry that Enzymit targets to disrupt. CEO and co-founder Dr. Gideon Lapidoth said the company aims to solve the enzyme bottleneck limiting biomanufacturing.

  • DeepCure

    Participated · Series A · Nov 2021

DeepCure develops novel small-molecule therapeutics using a generative AI and physics-based engine coupled with an automated chemistry synthesis platform. Its engine maps potential interaction sites on protein surfaces and designs novel, synthesizable molecules with lead-like properties. The automated synthesis platform increases the speed, number, and diversity of molecules that are tested. Founded by researchers at MIT and based in Boston, DeepCure brings together engineers, chemists, and biologists to tackle challenging targets in disease biology. Proceeds from the recent financing will be used to further develop its technology and to advance its immunology and inflammation pipeline toward clinical trials. DeepCure has raised more than $72 million in financing since its inception. DeepCure develops novel small-molecule therapeutics using the world’s largest AI drug discovery engine coupled with an automated robotic wet lab. The company is advancing several preclinical candidates across traditionally “undruggable” classes, including polypharmacology programs and protein–protein interactions, and tackling previously “impossible” specificity challenges. Its platform scans a proprietary molecular database with in-house AI property models to expand the effective search space and shorten timelines to high-quality candidates. Proceeds from the recent financing will fund five additional oncology programs and the development of an automated robotic wet lab to realize end-to-end AI design, synthesis, and testing. DeepCure plans to double its drug-discovery headcount next year and open two new sites in Greece and Israel. The company is based in Boston and has raised a total of $47 million to date.
