- Linda Lifetech
Led · Seed · Jul 2026
Linda Lifetech, an eight-year-old healthtech that moved its headquarters from São Paulo to Toronto, has built a proprietary technology aimed at the early detection of breast cancer and already holds Anvisa clearance in Brazil. In a 2023 clinical trial involving 322 women across three Brazilian states, the solution demonstrated efficacy, underpinning the company’s push for wider regulatory acceptance. The business currently earns about R$12 million in annual revenue by selling to governments, hospitals, private clinics, insurers and pharmacy chains such as Grupo DPSP and Rede Pró-Vida. Fresh capital will allow Linda to seek FDA and Health Canada approvals and to launch a three-year clinical study with the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, the world’s fifth-largest cancer-research hospital. Participation in the Creative Destruction Lab accelerator, backing from the Canadian Cancer Society and an agreement to test its device in three Swiss cantons further strengthen its clinical and commercial positioning. Over the next two years, management aims to consolidate its Brazilian footprint and open the North American market before pursuing an estimated R$30 million Series A round. The company’s post-seed runway now extends to 24 months, giving it operational stability and resources to execute these milestones.
- Scalvy
Participated · Series A · Mar 2026
Scalvy develops the patented Power Neuron platform, a distributed power conversion and control architecture that places compact, software-coordinated modules with built-in energy storage at load points. The platform is designed to enable megawatt-scale power delivery with higher efficiency, smaller footprint, and grid interactivity without requiring customers to re-architect systems. Scalvy is initially targeting AI data centers, energy storage, and electric mobility markets and has completed technical validation with several blue-chip customers. With the recent Series A, the company has approximately $17 million in total capital raised and is expanding engineering, product, and operations teams. Short-term plans include certification, field testing, and near-term deployments of the Power Neuron platform.
- Holobiome
Participated · Seed · Oct 2024
Holobiome has built the Microbiome Vault, a diverse collection of human gut bacteria, and performs target-directed screening to map how the microbiome influences health. The company uses large datasets from these screens to inform development of novel consumer products and drug candidates. Its initial focus is on the gut–brain axis, with a lead program that is a next‑generation probiotic targeting biology relevant to depression. Holobiome advances additional programs via partnerships with major consumer, food, and pharmaceutical partners in areas including stress and pain. The company was launched in 2018 and is headquartered in Boston. Holobiome has secured substantial non-dilutive funding (including NIH and TRISH grants) and recently closed an institutional seed round to support clinical advancement and platform expansion.
- Geminus
Participated · Seed · Jun 2022
Geminus.AI is a physical information technology developer that constructs an AI physical information platform. The platform integrates physics-based simulation, measurement data, and other information sources to create digital performance models for optimization. It is positioned to predict asset degradation and forecast the effects of system changes. The company aims to provide physical-prediction solutions to industrial users. According to reporting, Geminus.AI recently completed a financing event that strengthens its financial position. The disclosed investor in the round is SLB. Geminus.AI provides a physics-informed AI platform that combines physics-based simulations and measurement data to create digital twins. The platform is used to optimize performance and predict the impact of asset degradation and system changes. Its solution can be applied across industries including energy, chemical and material manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing, and critical infrastructure. The company is led by CEO Greg Fallon and Chief Science Officer Dr. Karthik Duraisamy. Geminus plans to use the new funding to further enhance its physics-informed AI platform and accelerate go-to-market traction. The company closed a $5.9M seed round in June 2022.
- Material Evolution
Participated · Seed · Nov 2021
Material Evolution has created a low-energy cement made using an alkali-fusion process that produces material at ambient temperatures from industrial wastes and feedstocks, avoiding kiln heat. The company says its product has an 85% lower carbon footprint than conventional Portland cement. Its material is already being used in industry through a strategic partnership with materials company SigmaRoc. Material Evolution is incorporated in the U.S. but operates substantively out of the U.K., where its founders and a team of 20 are based and all product development takes place. The startup was founded in 2017 and is focused on scaling production of its low-carbon cement to address cement’s large share of global CO2 emissions. Founded in 2017 by Elizabeth Gilligan, Ph.D., Material Evolution uses patented geopolymer technology and proprietary algorithms to produce high‑consistency construction materials. The company is developing a geopolymer product made of roughly 95% industrial waste that it says is stronger and more durable than conventional alternatives. Material Evolution claims its material reduces the carbon consumption of concrete by 85% compared with Ordinary Portland Cement. It employs AI and machine learning to guarantee 100% batch-to-batch consistency. The recent funding will be used to build a world‑leading material science team, expand future projects, and scale batch production. Prior to this raise the startup had operated on a $120,000 pre‑seed investment.
