  • AethexAI

    Participated · Seed · Jun 2026

AethexAI develops compact, low-latency voice AI models and an orchestration layer designed for the dialects, code-switching, and telephony realities of Africa and the Middle East. The company built the Kora series of models (300 million to 1.7 billion parameters) and its own orchestration stack to reduce jitter and latency versus using large models hosted outside target regions. It sources training data from anonymized call-center recordings, shipped hard drives to radio stations across Africa for more audio, and uses a network of university students to annotate data and pronounce local names. AethexAI has launched an enterprise platform and offers APIs and SDKs for developers, and reports handling more than 17,000 calls per day. Its primary enterprise use cases include debt collection, customer activation, and KYC, and it deploys forward‑deployed engineers on contract while building telecom channel partnerships. The company was founded last year by CEO Mariama Diallo and CTO Ayooluwa Odemuyiwa.

  • EduKart

    Participated · Equity · Jun 2015

EduKart operates an enrollment service that aggregates lists of courses from physical education institutes rather than delivering courses itself. The platform claims to host over 2,000 courses from more than 90 education centers, spanning K12, coaching, and graduate and undergraduate programs. EduKart also works with corporate clients to assess staff learning needs and has begun discussions with international institutions about joining the platform. The service provides alumni networking, job opportunities and a student support team to assist with course issues. The company has built a learning management system and intends to help institutions transition to online delivery as the market shifts. EduKart is aiming to enroll 100,000 students per year within the next three years and is planning to raise a larger round in the next six to nine months to scale its online efforts. EduKart operates an online learning platform where every course is paid (priced from $20 to $2,400) and open enrollment lets students begin immediately with phone and email support. Courses are created by EduKart’s content team and through partnerships with local universities, and support staff are paid subject experts who assist students by phone, email or text. Content today is mostly slideshows with some videos, documents and interactive materials; students complete assessments between exercises and must pass a live, video-based final exam in front of EduKart teachers. The company is focused on the Indian and broader developing-market opportunity driven by rising broadband and smartphone adoption. Near-term roadmap items include building a mobile platform and working more closely with publishers to create customized content. EduKart is also pursuing strategic partnerships with foreign universities in the U.S. to bring accredited programs to Indian students.
