The company targets patients with chronic kidney disease and those at risk of heart failure, where potassium imbalances can be life‑threatening. Clinical trials are underway for the product, which Proton says is due to launch in 2025. The founders are CEO Sahan Ranamukhaarachchi (based in Vancouver) and CSO Victor Cadarso (based in Melbourne); the company has a commercial HQ in Canada and an R&D subsidiary in Melbourne, Australia.
