- Respiro Diagnostics
Led · Seed · Jul 2026
Respiro Diagnostics is developing a non-invasive liquid biopsy platform that captures DNA, RNA and proteins from exhaled breath using a proprietary breath collection device combined with laboratory analysis. The company positions its technology as an alternative to invasive tissue biopsies and blood-based liquid biopsies, aiming to support earlier diagnosis and provide molecular profiling to guide treatment decisions. Respiro has completed initial proof-of-concept testing in mesothelioma patients and plans to start its first lung cancer clinical study at Aalborg University Hospital in September 2026. The startup is also evaluating applications of its platform for other respiratory conditions such as pulmonary hypertension and asthma. Respiro is UK-based and was founded by Alison Quinn and Dr Theo Issitt. The company recently raised £1 million in a pre-seed round to fund clinical research and further development of its device and laboratory platform.
- Vitalis Ortho
Led · Seed · Jun 2026
Vitalis Ortho is developing an implantable medical device intended to support cartilage regeneration and delay knee replacement for patients with knee osteoarthritis. The company aims to progress its technology through device testing and early preclinical validation toward first-in-human use. It recently raised £1.2m in pre-seed funding to support those development milestones. The founding team is led by Olly Morgan and Mac Tuncer and is supported by experienced orthopaedic surgery advisors in the UK and US. Vitalis has received support from Zinc beginning at the cohort stage and now counts Zinc, Aligned Syndicate, Orthopaedic Research UK, angel investors, and an Innovate UK Growth Catalyst grant among its backers. The company positions itself at the intersection of medical devices, orthopaedics, active ageing and healthcare innovation, targeting a large global burden of knee osteoarthritis.
- SignaCor Therapeutics
Led · Seed · Mar 2026
Founded in 2024 as a spin-out from Queen’s University Belfast, SignaCor Therapeutics is focused on creating disease-modifying medicines for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), a genetic cardiac disorder that affects roughly 1 in 500 people in the UK. Its lead candidate, Cardiaza, targets multiple underlying causes of symptomatic HCM—including established fibrosis—through a novel DNA-methylation mechanism. The therapy is positioned as the first treatment aimed at repairing heart muscle damage rather than simply managing symptoms. Fresh capital will support preparations for a Phase 2a clinical trial and advance the company’s regulatory strategy. SignaCor’s team is led by CEO Darach Neeson and CSO Dr Chris Watson and was recently recognised as the top company in Discovery Park’s Spark growth programme. Still pre-revenue, the startup is in the midst of closing a €1.1 million Seed round to fund its next stage of clinical development.
- Juno Technologies
Participated · Equity · Jan 2025
Juno Technologies is developing an AI-powered “employee” called Juno that guides borrowers through the loan application process, automatically collects required documents, and enriches borrower profiles with third-party data. The platform checks each application for completeness and accuracy so loan officers receive decision-ready files. By eliminating manual data gathering, the company aims to cut processing times and costs for lenders and brokers handling business and property loans. Juno plans to deploy its product first with SME lenders in the UK before expanding more broadly. The company has raised $1 million to accelerate product development and bring its core offering to market. No operating metrics such as revenue or user counts have been disclosed, indicating the product is still in pre-launch or early pilot phases.

The company plans to expand its climate data capabilities, business and software engineering team, and commercial reach using newly raised funds.
