- Promise Bio
Led · Seed · Oct 2024
Promise Bio builds a cloud-based AI platform that detects different post-translational modifications (PTMs) in proteins from a single blood sample, replacing the need for separate tests for each PTM. The company emphasizes that it is focused on precision medicine for autoimmune diseases rather than being another AI drug-discovery firm. Founded in January 2023 and based in Tel Aviv, Promise Bio operated in stealth until recently. It is already working with multiple large hospitals in the U.S. and Israel and with drug companies including AstraZeneca and Pfizer. The company closed an $8.3M seed round in April 2023, led by Awz Ventures with strategic participation from AstraZeneca and Pfizer. Promise Bio plans to use the funds to hire additional staff and to build a database of PTM datapoints to support future research and development.
- NanoPass Technologies
Led · Equity · Jul 2024
NanoPass Technologies develops intradermal delivery solutions centered on its MicronJet™ product platform, which leverages MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) technology and a proprietary pure silicon hollow pyramid structure. The MicronJet™ platform is designed to deliver precision, consistency and safety that the company says surpass traditional injection methods, for both therapeutic and medical aesthetic treatments. NanoPass plans to use the new funding to expand its commercial reach. The company is led by new CEO Daniel Levitats. Financially, NanoPass announced a $6M funding round to support its commercial expansion. The company is based in Ness Ziona, Israel. NanoPass develops painless intradermal (skin) delivery devices and cosmetic enhancement products based on its Microneedles technology. Its MicronJet600 device holds an FDA registration and a CE Mark. The company is led by CEO Yotam Levin, MD, MBA, and is based in Nes Ziona, Israel. NanoPass focuses on licensing its delivery applications to pharmaceutical companies. It intends to use the recent financing to accelerate market penetration through additional licensing agreements. The articles do not disclose operating metrics or financial details beyond the financing event.
- DeepKeep
Led · Seed · Jul 2024
DeepKeep builds a model-agnostic, AI-native security platform that safeguards ML models from development through deployment. The platform is organized around four pillars: Continuous Risk Assessment, Automated Prevention, Real-time Detection, and Alert and Mitigation, offering penetration testing, pre-deployment hardening, online/offline attack detection, and mitigation including an AI firewall and response options. DeepKeep began by securing computer vision models and has expanded to support a variety of ML types, including large language models (LLMs) and multimodal systems. The company reports successful trials, including preventing data leakage and stopping toxic LLM responses at a large financial institution, and has conducted evaluations of models such as Meta’s LlamaV2 7B to surface vulnerabilities like prompt injection, jailbreaks, DoS, data leakage, hallucinations, and bias. DeepKeep raised $10M in seed funding in a round led by Canadian-Israeli VC Awz Ventures. The platform is deployed by leading global enterprises in the finance, security, and AI computing sectors, and the company plans to expand multilingual NLP support with an initial focus on Japanese.
- Magnus Metal
Participated · Series B · Apr 2024
Magnus Metal has developed a "digital casting" process that slices designs into layers and creates ceramic forms 4–20 mm thick into which molten metal is dripped and built up layer by layer. Each new layer melts the previous one to bond material and allow impurities to float out, yielding parts the company says have fewer defects and are 10%–20% stronger than traditionally cast parts. The system is positioned as faster than 3D printing, able to use customer-specified materials, and its ceramic bases can be reused for a finite number of parts. Magnus says the approach removes the need for expensive tooling used in sand casting, making lower-volume, complex parts more cost-effective while acknowledging simple parts will still favor sand casting. The company plans to sell both machines and proprietary ceramic feedstock, targeting $500,000 to $1 million of recurring revenue per machine. Magnus Metal has raised a $74 million Series B to support industrialization this year and to begin beta testing at the start of next year.
- KTrust
Led · Seed · Feb 2024
KTrust builds an automated red-team (continuous threat exposure management) platform that proactively attacks duplicated Kubernetes infrastructure in a secure sandbox to expose real attack paths. Its algorithmic, agent-based system mimics real attackers to validate exploits rather than producing large, disconnected lists of static findings. The platform highlights validated attack paths, provides mitigation recommendations, and can automate many remediation steps. KTrust also employs a team of security specialists who research novel vectors and have submitted CVEs for Kubernetes and Argo CD. The company targets DevSecOps and DevOps teams struggling with the complexity and dynamism of Kubernetes deployments. KTrust is coming out of stealth with a $5.4 million seed round and plans to scale to empower DevSecOps globally, per its lead investor.
