- 4AG Robotics
Participated · Series B · Jul 2025
4AG Robotics develops a plug-and-play robotic harvesting platform that uses AI-powered computer vision, precision suction grippers, and advanced motion control to autonomously harvest, trim, and pack mushrooms 24/7. The system is designed to retrofit into existing Dutch-rack infrastructure, enabling consistent quality, reduced labour costs, and real-time operational data for growers. Its robots are already in use across Canada, Ireland, and Australia, with new deployments planned in the Netherlands and the United States, and the company says it is active across five countries. 4AG reports deposits for over 40 additional robots and a fleet that can pick up to 1 million mushrooms per week. Financially, the company closed a $40M CAD Series B that brings total capital raised to $57.5M over the past two years after a $17.5M round in 2023. The funding is earmarked to expand manufacturing in Salmon Arm, BC, grow field service and customer success teams, and accelerate development of next-gen features such as punnet packing, disease detection, and AI-driven yield optimization. 4AG Robotics has developed an autonomous robotic harvester that scans mushroom beds, picks mushrooms, trims stems and places produce into containers for retail. Its systems are entirely autonomous and built to operate consistently without human intervention for well over 24 hours. Robots currently target indoor farms growing common white and brown mushrooms, which O’Connor says account for roughly 90% of global production. The company has completed multiple pilots, harvesting more than 13,000 pounds of mushrooms that were sold in North America. 4AG says it is entering the commercialization stage with two secured orders valued at just under $1 million each (one in Canada and one in Europe). The new funding will support scaling manufacturing capacity and proving the company can scale a robotics business. While focused on mushrooms today, 4AG says it may work with other indoor crops over time as it seeks to become a global leader in indoor-agriculture harvesting solutions.

The platform ingests third-party telematics data, analyzes it, and generates visualizations and insights to help growers optimize operations and reduce losses. The company claims at least one customer saved upwards of $30,000 in annual crop losses and currently serves over 100 customers, some managing up to 40 sites. Vineyards account for roughly 50% of revenue, orchards about 30% (the fastest-growing market), and specialty crops the remaining 20%; up to 90% of business is in the U.S., led by California. IntelliCulture reports average year-over-year revenue growth of between 150% and 200%. The team has more than doubled since 2022 and plans to expand headcount while further developing safety, compliance, and automated recommendation features. IntelliCulture offers an equipment management platform and backwards-compatible IoT devices that feed machinery data into reporting and software to digitize and automate farm management. The product surfaces insights on spray coverage, operational health, labor management and seasonal performance, and customers report efficiency gains in excess of 30% from platform recommendations. The company serves growers across North America, from small family operations to Fortune 500 wineries, and is extending beyond high-value crops via a plug-and-play approach. IntelliCulture plans to scale its team and intends to double headcount within the next year to meet rising inbound demand and product requests. The company also sees predictive algorithms and seasonal-data-driven planning as the future of the platform. Financially, IntelliCulture closed a C$1.7 million seed round to fund this growth and product roadmap.

ChrysaLabs offers a patented Probe™ that combines spectroscopy, AI and machine learning to analyze 40 soil parameters and deliver a complete soil readout within 30 seconds of sampling. The probe reports macronutrients, micronutrients, pH, organic matter, CEC, organic carbon, bulk density, moisture and more, enabling frequent, low-cost sampling compared with traditional wet labs. Its solution is cloud-connected and intended to create a digital twin of fields to inform precision fertilizer management and other agronomic decisions. The company is positioning the product to support the growing agricultural carbon market by providing scientifically accurate, scalable measurements for carbon verification and nature-based credits. ChrysaLabs says its technology has been used on more than two million acres across seven countries, six Canadian provinces and 25 U.S. states. The company recently completed a CA$15 million (US$11 million) Series A financing to advance commercial expansion and carbon verification capabilities. ChrysaLabs develops an accurate, affordable, real-time soil fertility assessment solution for precision agriculture. Its system combines artificial intelligence, optics, cloud computing, and a database of thousands of soil samples to deliver agronomic parameters in real time to agronomists and growers. The solution is the result of several years of research and field trials in North America. ChrysaLabs says the tool helps growers increase yields, optimize fertilizer use, and better manage soil health and fertility. The company is based in Montreal. In January 2021 it announced funding to support commercialization in Canada and the USA.
- SwarmFarm Robotics
Led · Series A · Feb 2023
SwarmFarm Robotics develops compact, self-driving “SwarmBots” that work together in fleets to handle on-farm tasks such as spraying and crop management. These robots are paired with SwarmConnect, an open “app store for agriculture” that lets third-party developers and farmers add crop- or task-specific software modules. By replacing million-dollar tractors and combines with simpler, lower-cost machines operated from a smartphone-like interface, the company aims to cut input costs, improve repairability, and reduce environmental impact. Farmer adoption of SwarmBots now exceeds that of traditional tractor-autonomy solutions in Australia, and some SwarmConnect partners report sales gains of more than $20 million in a single year. With fresh capital, SwarmFarm plans to expand manufacturing capacity in Toowoomba, grow its team, and launch into North America. Founded in 2012 by Queensland farmers Andrew and Jocie Bate, the startup previously raised a $12 million Series A in 2023, a $4.5 million round in 2020, and secured an $856,000 grant from the Northern Australia Development Program in 2022. The new funding strengthens its balance sheet as farmers worldwide seek more efficient, cost-effective machinery heading into 2026.
