Grouse Ridge Capital is a private equity and venture capital firm based just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. Our firm operates under a similar model to that pioneered by the Bessemer Securities Corporation and serves as the investment vehicle for an operating portfolio of over a dozen companies. Its Internal Mobility feature matches employees with next-step roles to reduce turnover and bridge career development gaps, while a Referral Network add-on helps employees identify suitable positions for candidates. The company plans to use new funding to expand its business reach, drive innovative new features, and continue customer support.

    nanoGriptech produces gecko-inspired micro-structured dry adhesives and surfaces for applications including wearable consumer products, semiconductor and glass handling, and automotive upholstery fastening. Its product family includes Setex Gecko Grip, Setex Gecko Tape and Setex Ultra‑Thin Fastener. Earlier in the year the company introduced an anti-slip microstructured nose pad for eyewear made with Setex Gecko Grip, sold exclusively through Amazon. The company is led by founder Metin Sitti and CEO Nicholas Kuhn and was spun out of Carnegie Mellon University in 2012. It occupies 6,000 square feet in a former chocolate factory in Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood. Prior support includes SBIR/STTR grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA and the U.S. Department of Defense, plus assistance from the PA NanoMaterials Commercialization Center and private investors. The company will use the new funds to scale manufacturing operations and strengthen commercialization activities.

Its suite includes transaction synchronization, order management, item catalog syndication and master data management delivered via a web-based subscription model. The platform is designed to help companies manage sales processes for both wholesale and consumer channels. The company plans to use proceeds from the Series A to launch new products, increase internal resources, expand customer support, and grow adoption through direct sales and its partner network. The $2.4M Series A, closed in February 2013, provides growth capital to execute these plans. The company is led by CEO Steve Weber and is based in Columbus, Ohio.
