The company has been actively raising capital, recently completing an additional close of its Series B that increased cumulative Series B proceeds to about $29.62M. Investors in the recent tranche include a mix of venture funds and financial institutions such as Metaplanet, NCB Venture Capital, Hokuyo Bank and Yokohama Capital. JPYC plans to deploy the new funds toward system and application development, hiring, its stablecoin issuance and settlement operations, and strategic investments. Metaplanet previously announced a planned investment of up to ¥400 million earlier in the year. The articles do not disclose revenue, users, or other operating metrics.

  • Gaianixx

    Participated · Series C · Mar 2026

Gaianixx is a University of Tokyo spin-out engaged in the research, development, manufacturing and sale of a proprietary interlayer that is inserted between a substrate and semiconductor film to relax lattice mismatch and yield high-quality single-crystal compound semiconductors. Its technology targets applications ranging from power semiconductors and LEDs to next-generation sensors and communication devices. Since its Series B round, the company has progressed from pure R&D into commercialization; two partner companies have already shifted to device development using Gaianixx materials, and roughly 40 domestic and international device makers are in active joint-development or evaluation discussions. The firm operates a Yamanashi Technical Center and is building a dedicated pilot production line. Gaianixx holds 12 granted patents with a further 87 filings in process. Cumulative funding now totals about ¥3.85 billion, which supports global expansion across North America, Europe and Asia as well as key hiring.

  • HiJoJo Partners

    Participated · Series B · Feb 2026

HiJoJo Partners is an independent asset-management company established in 2017 by Spiridon Menzas that specializes in assembling and distributing "target funds" investing in U.S. and other global unicorns. Through both online and offline channels it has sold more than ¥500 billion worth of funds to Japanese investors as of 5 February 2026, making it one of the country’s largest players in this niche. The firm is registered for Type II Financial Instruments, investment management, and investment advisory businesses and counts major Japanese financial groups—such as Credit Saison, Mizuho, SBI, MUFG Innovation Partners, and others—among its shareholders. HiJoJo’s model aims at the “democratization of startup investing” by giving domestic high-net-worth and retail investors access to private, late-stage equity previously limited to institutions. With the fresh capital, management plans to expand its business foundation, deepen global partnerships, and broaden the range of attractive investment opportunities it can offer clients. The company also envisions listing funds that bundle promising unlisted companies, potentially creating a new domestic trading market for private shares.

  • SocialGood App

    Led · Series B · Dec 2025

SocialGood App has built a patented "crypto-asset reward" platform that returns digital currencies, such as Bitcoin, to shoppers as loyalty points. The company holds both domestic and international patents covering this business model, creating a defensible competitive moat in the burgeoning crypto-rewards space. Management plans to leverage the newly secured capital to strengthen internal controls, governance, and worldwide expansion of its rewards ecosystem, including strategic collaborations that combine its platform with D2C expertise from partners like Urueru Net Advertising. A lead investor from the latest round, i-nest capital, will appoint an outside director, adding further oversight and experience to the board. Cumulatively, SocialGood has raised ¥2.4 billion to date. The company did not disclose current revenue or user figures, but it positions the fresh funds to accelerate product enhancements and global growth.
