Anodine is a Gières-based cleantech startup that has developed an industrial process to upcycle and recharge electrolyzer electrodes, reducing the need for rare metals by half. The technology stems from ten years of research at Université Grenoble Alpes and the CNRS and is designed to lessen European dependence on Chinese-supplied electrodes while curbing global waste. With a seven-person team, the company plans to install a pilot line capable of producing 200,000 electrodes annually and to expand its commercial organization. Management’s longer-term goal is to become the leading European provider of sustainable electrodes for the hydrogen industry. In January 2026 Anodine closed a €2.5 million first funding round to finance the pilot facility and accelerate go-to-market efforts. The startup, founded in 2024, projects €2.5 million in revenue by 2027 as it moves from pilot to scaled production.

AIS Biotech, founded in 2023 and based in the Grenoble/Isère region, is developing GlycoFlu, a nasal antiviral composed of synthetic oligosaccharides that mimic cellular sugars to trap Influenza viruses before cell entry. The company leverages 25 years of academic research and is currently in preclinical development of its lead candidate. AIS also plans to industrialize a bioproduction platform for complex sugars to target other infectious diseases. The startup has four employees and intends to hire three more in the coming months to support R&D. The recent financing will accelerate preclinical work on GlycoFlu and broaden research on additional therapeutic targets. Company leadership (the three founders/executives) remain majority shareholders after the round.

Its core product diagnoses batteries across the value chain for OEMs and cell producers, with applications tested by gigafactories and automotive companies across Europe. Key diagnostics include defect detection at end-of-line using a fast self-discharge calculation, accurate real-time state-of-charge across chemistries including LFP and LMFP, and state-of-health estimation including degradation modes without historical data. The company reports concrete operating metrics: end-of-line test time reduced from eight days to ten hours and state-of-charge errors reduced by up to 50%. Its state-of-health capabilities aim to unlock second-life applications and the second-hand battery market. Entroview recently raised $1.6M in Seed funding and intends to use proceeds to expand its team, further develop its software, and scale operations.
