    Milan-based Cyberwave provides an operating layer that connects AI agents to physical machines by abstracting robots, sensors, and actuators into digital twins. Its catalogue of twins works as a two-sided marketplace: hardware makers integrate once, and developers then gain plug-and-play access to a growing library of industrial arms, drones, cameras, and other devices. This architecture allows engineers to simulate, control, and orchestrate heterogeneous machines with far less effort than traditional bespoke integrations, addressing high integration costs that keep roughly 30 % of manufacturing tasks manual. Early pilots are running with major European manufacturers in automotive, construction, and logistics, covering use cases like assembly-line defect rework, warehouse packing optimisation, drone inspections, and smart-camera upgrades. The company intends to launch the platform publicly in October 2025, expand its developer ecosystem, and validate enterprise deployments. While currently focused on Europe, Cyberwave plans a U.S. presence to support customers’ overseas sites and to tap North American re-industrialisation trends. Co-founders Simone Di Somma and Vittorio Banfi position the company as the “system of actions” for the physical world, analogous to SAP’s role in digital processes.

Its algorithm is trained on 3.5 million audio clips (16,000 hours) from over 18,000 contributors across 29 countries and 288 accents, primarily from healthcare practitioners. The tool is live in 30 hospitals across five markets, including deployments in Kenya and Nigeria, and has been shown to cut radiology-result wait times in one West African hospital from 48 hours to 20 minutes. The company plans technical improvements including better noise cancellation, low-bandwidth performance, multi-speaker transcription and text-to-speech, and aims to add decision-support/clinical-intelligence tools for prescriptions and lab tests. Intron was launched in 2020 and is also engaged in speech-research partnerships with Google Research, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and Digital Square at PATH to evaluate LLMs across 15 countries. The startup raised a $1.6 million pre-seed round to support product development and expansion.

Mergo’s modular building-block approach aims to modulate pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics to expand RNA therapeutics beyond the liver and local administration. Sixfold was founded in 2017 by Dr George Foot and Dr Perdrix Rosell and operates from London. Company leadership frames the technology as a way to accelerate clinical research, support personalised medicine and enable complex surgical planning and 3D-printed prostheses. Market research referenced in the article projects the global biosimulation market will exceed $4.5 billion in the next five years, underpinning demand for the product.
