NuVision now supplies more than 160 NHS centres and private clinics in the UK, including Moorfields Eye Hospital, and serves customers in 12 countries across Europe, Scandinavia and the Middle East. Founders Prof. Chris Moody, Thomas McInally and Dr. Alison John are described as leading scientists in the RGD integrin field with industry experience. The AN24 system is used to monitor the delivery of over 100,000 babies every year. The company’s patented technology passively acquires electrophysiological signals from electrodes on the maternal abdomen and extracts fetal heart rate, maternal heart rate, uterine activity and fetal ECG morphology parameters in real time. Monica plans to use the recent funding and a Nottingham Technology Grant to expand operations and to underpin manufacture and launch of a second-generation FDA-cleared wireless fetal monitoring product. Founded in May 2005 following 15 years of research at the University of Nottingham, the company is led by CEO Dr Carl Barratt.
