It has launched its first product, the AS800, aimed at miniature circuit breakers in 110V and 230V environments and positioned for industrial-scale deployment through a global supply chain. The company’s technology spans materials, devices and systems and targets scalability to higher-voltage architectures, including 800V DC systems for AI data centers. AlpSemi emphasizes digital, software-controlled power distribution to enable real-time control, improved energy efficiency and reliability across AC and DC architectures. The recent €17 million financing is intended to accelerate industrialization, commercial ramp-up and further product development. AlpSemi counts strategic industry investors and partners among its backers, including Navitas Semiconductor and SE Ventures.

The Aurora software platform consolidates multiple power system functions into a single device, enabling network efficiency, increased renewables hosting capacity, and AI-enabled control. Founded in 2019, the company has scaled its solution for data centers and is collaborating with energy giant EDP in Portugal and Spain. IONATE has received industry recognition from NATO’s Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) and is positioning to address a market projected to reach $21 trillion by 2050 as electricity demand rises. The company recently completed a $17M Series A to support continued commercialisation and deployment of its technology. IONATE develops a patented power flow control solution intended to address power quality issues arising from energy decarbonisation. Its technology is designed to boost the reliability and productivity of connected assets, including renewable generation and battery storage. The company plans to scale operations and deploy its solution to electricity distribution grids, renewables generation projects and energy storage assets using the new funding. IONATE has been supported by Edinburgh Innovations and benefited from collaboration with the University of Edinburgh’s School of Engineering during technology development. The startup says it transformed the initial idea into fully functioning technology in less than three years and aims to commercialise its offering to play a role in the journey to Net Zero. It was recognised by the UK Energy Innovation Centre with the 2022 Future Energy System Award for its impact on the energy systems transition.

    Blue World Technologies develops methanol fuel cell system architectures that convert methanol to electricity with electrical efficiency of up to 65%. Its systems enable internal waste heat utilisation to optimise the methanol-reforming process and allow additional onboard energy recovery. The architecture provides the potential for 100% capture of generated CO2 with only a 2–3% fuel increase, enabling recycling business models. The company has taken an industrial approach and built a fuel cell factory ensuring in-house production of all core fuel cell components alongside system development and manufacturing. Led by CEO Anders Korsgaard and based in Aalborg, Denmark, Blue World plans to use newly raised capital to expand operations and accelerate development efforts. Blue World Technologies develops and industrializes high-efficiency methanol fuel cell systems that enable cost-efficient use of renewable e-fuels such as methanol and produce zero particle emissions. The company is targeting maritime applications initially, including auxiliary power, gensets and eventually propulsion. In late 2021 it insourced production of core fuel cell components and is currently in pre-series production, with series production planned later this year. With the Series B financing the company plans to scale production and invest in developing methanol-driven fuel cell applications for the maritime sector. Blue World expects to reach a production capacity of 500 MW within a couple of years as it scales. The company was founded in 2018 and is based in Aalborg, Denmark. Blue World Technologies develops and manufactures high‑temperature PEM (HT‑PEM) methanol fuel cell components and systems for stationary, APU, automotive and heavy‑duty transport sectors. Its fuel cells run primarily on methanol with onboard methanol‑reforming, enabling a simple system design, high electrical efficiency and zero NOx, SOx and particle emissions. The company has moved from laboratory production toward industrialisation, outsourcing in‑house production of final components in autumn 2021. With large‑scale production planned, Blue World aims to commercialise the technology through series production and to support sectors where direct electrification is insufficient. To support that transition, it secured external financing to streamline and upscale production capacity in 2022. The firm positions its technology within the Power‑to‑X ecosystem as a liquid, storable renewable fuel solution that can leverage existing transport infrastructure.

Rather than manufacturing finished switchgear, nuventura sells key components or licenses its full technology to established switchgear manufacturers. This business model is designed to be highly scalable and lets customers adopt SF6-free GIS while avoiding large R&D costs. Nuventura says its technology could help tackle annual SF6 emissions equivalent to the yearly CO2 emissions of roughly 100 million cars. The company is pursuing industrialization and expansion into Asian markets, and has secured support from ADB Ventures to aid those efforts. Nuventura positions itself to enable a more sustainable electrical grid by accelerating adoption of SF6-free solutions.
