  • MoneyHash

    Participated · Series A · Jan 2025

MoneyHash builds a payment-orchestration platform that aggregates payment providers via a unified API to simplify pay-in/pay-out, customizable checkout, transaction routing, fraud prevention, failure-rate optimization and reporting. The company also supports recurring payments, virtual wallets, subscription management and payment links, and says it has 300+ pre-integrated APIs covering 100+ markets with partners such as Adyen, Amazon Pay, Checkout, Fawry, Mono, Stripe, Tabby and ValU. Founded in early 2021 by Nader Abdelrazik and Mustafa Eid, MoneyHash initially targeted small merchants and in early 2024 launched an enterprise suite to pursue larger enterprises. Enterprises now account for 35% of its customers (a threefold increase in 2024), and the company reports a 4x increase in processing volume and a 3x revenue increase over the past year. Management says the product helps clients improve authorization, conversion and fraud metrics and reduce go-to-market and development costs. The company is scaling commercially across the Middle East and Africa and positioning payments as a strategic advantage for merchants in emerging markets. MoneyHash offers a unified payment orchestration platform with a single API that integrates pay-in and pay-out rails, a fully customizable checkout, transaction routing with fraud and failure optimizers, and a centralized reporting hub. Its product suite also supports virtual wallets, subscription management and payment links to address fragmented payment methods across MEA markets. After a beta in 2022 and an enterprise suite launch last October, the company says it has tripled revenue and grown processing volume by 3,000% over the past year. MoneyHash currently serves 50 active paying customers and hosts over 100 sandbox users in assessment. The platform charges a combination of SaaS and transaction fees starting at $500 plus 0.4%, with SaaS fees rising and transaction fees declining for larger enterprises. The company plans to use the new capital to further invest in its technology and expand growth across the region while deepening integrations with payment service providers. MoneyHash provides a unified “super-API” that sits on top of local and global payment providers to simplify integrations, checkout experiences, transaction routing, subscription management and invoicing. The product targets merchants operating across African and Middle Eastern markets, where payment methods, currencies and integrations are fragmented. The company emerged from beta after onboarding 17 companies to its sandbox, of which five are active, paying customers; pricing ranges from $150–$1,000 per month plus transaction fees starting at $0.10. MoneyHash was founded in late 2020 by Nader Abdelrazik, Mustafa Eid and Anisha Sekar, who together have over 30 years of experience at firms including Microsoft, UpWork, NerdWallet and Sigfig. The team of about 15 spans the U.S., Egypt, the UAE, Nigeria and parts of Europe. MoneyHash plans to expand integrations across the Middle East, North Africa and later sub-Saharan Africa, hire mid- and senior-level engineers, and use the new funding to accelerate regional growth.

  • Changeblock

    Led · Equity · Aug 2023

Changeblock is a global carbon market tech firm that uses blockchain to create trustworthy, tradeable offsets and speed financing and project outcomes through a data-to-credit solution. Its platform is linked to Changeblock's Exchange, where users can trade high-integrity environmental credits. The company aims to turn sustainable action into economically viable, monetizable assets and to attract climate-focused investments, with a stated focus on benefiting Africa. Changeblock says it leverages transparent technology to incentivize sustainable practices and bring regulators, business leaders, and changemakers together around net-zero strategies. The firm recently received financial backing intended to support development of its solutions and strengthen its position in the carbon market technology space. That backing is presented as part of a broader effort to foster blockchain adoption and sustainable development in Africa and the Middle East.

  • Amini

    Participated · Seed · May 2023

Amini aggregates satellite data with sensors, research and ground-truthing to deliver environmental insights on biodiversity, soil and crop health and to track farming practices such as water and fertilizer use. Its platform enables real-time monitoring tools and machine-learning models for use cases including flood detection and supply-chain transparency. Amini can provide historical environmental data up to 20 years and counts enterprise clients in agriculture and insurance, including Aon. The company is targeting food and beverage and consumer packaged goods firms to help multinationals transform supply chains toward regenerative practices amid new U.S. and European disclosure regulations. Founder and CEO Kate Kallot, who previously held tech roles at Nvidia and Intel, says Amini aims to be a pure platform play that empowers developers to build solutions for African communities. The startup plans to scale data access and transparency to increase economic inclusion for farmers and rebalance value in commodity supply chains. Amini has built a data aggregation platform that ingests satellites, weather feeds, sensors and customer data and unifies it down to a square meter before delivering processed outputs via APIs. The platform can provide nearly 20 years of historical data and current updates produced every two weeks, and can surface granular farm-level metrics (planting-to-harvest cycles, water and fertilizer use) as well as continent-scale insights on flooding, drought and natural disasters. Its primary customers today are corporations and multinationals in agricultural insurance and last-mile supply chain monitoring, with the company in discussions with major food & beverage firms and a large global insurance company. Amini says its product is designed to be highly scalable and to allow reuse of agricultural datasets across insurance, supply-chain and government buyers. The startup was accepted into the Seraphim Space Accelerator and positions itself as a lower-cost alternative to some satellite data providers. Leadership includes founder and CEO Kate Kallot, who has prior AI and deep-tech experience at Arm, Intel and Nvidia, and an executive team with backgrounds at Microsoft, NASA and MTN. The company operates a long sales cycle: international clients receive API access after paying a flat multi-million-dollar two-year license, while local clients are offered tiered introductory pricing.

  • Credable

    Participated · Seed · Mar 2023

Credable builds a B2B2C digital banking infrastructure stack that provides technology, alternative credit scoring and banking partnerships to enable embedded financial products for businesses. The company also handholds partners through product design, development and management and operates a revenue-sharing model while avoiding credit exposure by pairing clients with balance-sheet providers. Since its official launch in May it has enabled more than six products across Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda, and over 1.2 million people have opened accounts on its platform. More than 200,000 customers (consumers and SMEs) have used its banking products, which include savings, term loans, overdrafts and asset financing; the platform has helped disburse $5 million in loans and seen over $3 million in deposits. Credable plans to launch four more products this year and expand into larger markets such as Pakistan and Nigeria where regulatory conditions and channels are conducive. The company was founded by Nadeem Juma, Jad Abbas and Michael Tarimo and is based in Dubai.
