    Founded in 2019 by David Reger in Metzingen, Germany, NEURA Robotics builds ‘cognitive’ robots that can see, hear, sense their surroundings and learn from experience. The company integrates sensors, AI software and robotic hardware into single devices, likening its machines to a “smartphone with arms and legs.” In addition to hardware, it offers the Neuraverse software platform, which enables the safe deployment and interaction of intelligent robots with humans. NEURA serves both industrial and consumer markets and has disclosed nearly $1 billion worth of purchase orders from customers such as Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Omron. Management is focused on accelerating humanoid robot development and scaling production capacity. Financially, the firm previously secured €120 million in January 2025 and is now pursuing a much larger raise to fund expansion. If successful, the new round could push the company’s valuation to approximately €4 billion.

    Invisix develops soft X-ray metrology systems that use high harmonic generation (HHG) and broadband soft X-ray scatterometry combined with proprietary reconstruction algorithms and machine learning to non-destructively reconstruct 3D internal structures of advanced semiconductor devices. The company has licensed key technology from ASML and is staffed by ASML alumni and senior industry hires, including CEO Christina Porter and CTO Sietse van der Post. Invisix relocated a 300mm-wafer-capable soft X-ray testbench to a new cleanroom in Eindhoven and publicly demonstrated results in 2023 with Intel and imec. The company says its system is designed for high-throughput, high-volume manufacturing use and to resolve buried nanoscale structures that optical tools cannot see. With an oversubscribed €20M seed financing, Invisix plans to accelerate development of its first shippable product, expand its team, and run customer demonstrations in its new facility.

    eyeo was founded to commercialise nanophotonic imaging technology developed at imec and builds the NCOS® platform that replaces conventional color filters by splitting and directing light to individual pixels. The technology is compatible with existing CMOS sensor platforms, enables ultra‑compact sub‑micron pixels, and aims to improve light sensitivity, color accuracy and image resolution. eyeo targets applications across smartphones, industrial systems, XR devices, smart cities and autonomous systems. The company reports its technology is proven, patented and validated at a commercial foundry, with tier‑one customers already engaged. Financially, the company has raised a total of €55 million to date following the €40 million Series A. Eyeo plans to use the new funding to scale commercial delivery, expand engineering, strengthen OEM partnerships and invest in next‑generation 3D‑stacked CMOS image sensors and IC/system architecture capabilities.

    Vertical Compute is a Belgian semiconductor startup engineering chiplets in which vertical memory stacks are integrated directly on top of compute logic during 300 mm wafer fabrication. This 3D architecture restructures on-chip data flow and addresses the longstanding “memory wall,” cutting latency and energy use compared with traditional 2D memory layouts. The company has already produced its first test chip demonstrating the concept. With a headcount of 25, Vertical Compute now plans to shift from validation to the commercial rollout of its chiplets for emerging AI platforms. Financially, the startup has secured €57 million to date, including a €20 million round in 2022 and the latest €37 million raise. No revenue figures have been disclosed, but the fresh capital provides runway for scaling manufacturing and bringing its products to market.

    Optalysys is a Leeds-based deep-tech company building photonic computing hardware that integrates data movement and processing on a single chip, combining silicon photonics with traditional digital technologies. Its core product is a programmable, high-density photonic computing layer designed to accelerate compute-intensive tasks such as generative AI, post-quantum algorithms and fully homomorphic encryption. Early versions of the technology are already shipping in the company’s LightLocker™ Node servers, which target encrypted blockchain and other security-sensitive applications. Management positions photonic computing as a step-change in speed and energy efficiency compared with electronic architectures, aiming to make it a foundational element of next-generation cloud infrastructure. With fresh capital, Optalysys will speed up commercialisation of its proprietary photonic chips and broaden its programmable computing platform for AI, cloud and security markets. The firm also intends to expand into the United States to embed itself within that country’s photonics and semiconductor ecosystem. The recent £23 million financing underscores investor confidence in the size of the opportunity and provides runway for product development and market expansion.
