Filament Sciences was launched and bootstrapped by founder Nathan Puksta, a L'Oréal veteran, and positions itself as a professional, science-led hair care brand emphasizing scalp health. The company proved product-market fit and early distribution traction before raising external capital. It has just closed a $2 million seed round to support scaling inventory and expanding into the salon professional channel. Filament also plans to invest in education as part of its growth strategy for professionals. The financing marks the company’s shift from founder-funded to partner-backed growth while keeping a tightly controlled cap table.

  • YSE Beauty

    Participated · Series A · Dec 2025

YSE Beauty develops premium, clinically tested skincare formulated to tackle concerns such as hyperpigmentation, uneven tone, hydration and glow for women aged 35 and older. Inspired by founder Molly Sims’ personal skin journey, the company spent more than three years in R&D before launching in 2023 with a lineup of multi-functional products like the award-winning Your Favorite Ex Exfoliating Pads and Wide Awake Brightening Eye Cream. The brand entered retail in June 2025 through an exclusive partnership with Sephora and is now preparing to roll out across all Sephora doors in the U.S. In 2025 the company achieved 120% revenue growth and projects more than 80% growth in 2026, which would lift annual sales to nearly $30 million. YSE plans to channel new capital into accelerating Sephora expansion, broadening its e-commerce footprint and advancing product development. Its marketing leverages Sims’ large, loyal community and her network of dermatologists, estheticians and makeup artists to keep the brand highly engaged and conversation-driven. Multiple beauty industry accolades, including awards from Allure, Good Housekeeping and Business of Fashion, reinforce the brand’s credibility and consumer appeal.
