Overview

The mission of Grey Silo Ventures, the Corporate Venture Capital of Cereal Docks Group established to invest in the supply chain of non-animal-based ingredients and related innovative technologies, is to broaden horizons in the global food-tech sector while maintaining the original vocation as a processor of plant based sources and explorer of new opportunities for innovation and business diversification. Grey Silo Ventures is committed to study the great potential of new fermentation processes and innovative green proteins, by using them to create novel ingredients. • Aardaia

    Participated · Seed · Jul 2026

Founded in 2025 and based in Wageningen, Aardaia builds a breeding platform that combines whole-genome sequencing, computational biology and phenotyping to identify and domesticate wild plant species. The company explicitly avoids genetic modification and gene editing, instead accelerating conventional breeding through predictive genomics and high-throughput evaluation. Its first product, the aardaker, is a protein-rich tuber intended to combine root-crop productivity with legume-like nitrogen-fixing properties and to reduce reliance on imported protein crops while requiring no synthetic nitrogen fertilizer. Aardaia expects to screen about 750,000 unique aardaker genotypes this year and plans to scale that to roughly two million with the new funding. The €5 million seed raise will be used to expand the breeding platform and speed development of the aardaker as it continues to create new crop varieties from wild species.

  • Revyve

    Participated · Series B · Sep 2025

Revyve develops highly functional yeast proteins that mimic the binding, texturizing and emulsifying properties of eggs in categories such as bakery, sauces, alternative meat and plant-based dairy. The ingredients are promoted as natural, clean-label and price-competitive, helping food manufacturers tackle volatile egg prices, reduce additives and cut CO₂ footprints. In 2024 the company brought a first-of-a-kind production plant in Dinteloord online and, with fresh capital, plans to boost annual output to more than 1,600 tons. Revyve already supplies customers in Europe, the UK, the USA, Canada, Mexico and Australia. Originating from Wageningen University & Research, the firm positions itself as a purpose-driven enabler of the global protein transition. Following its Series B round, Revyve’s cumulative fundraising now exceeds €40 million, providing resources for accelerated commercial rollout and global expansion.

  • Arsenale Bioyards

    Participated · Seed · Feb 2025

Arsenale Bioyards develops a bio-manufacturing platform that integrates advanced hardware, AI-driven software and precision fermentation to help industries develop and scale bio-based alternatives to petrochemicals and animal-derived products. The company operates a fully functioning pilot site with 1,000L precision fermentation capacity, including two advanced 500L bioreactors and a suite of smaller bioreactors with industry-first sensing capabilities. Led by CEO Massimo Portincaso and a senior technical team, Arsenale targets customers across food, chemicals and materials and is accelerating commercialization in the food and cosmetics industries. It has operations in Pordenone and the US in addition to its Milan base. The company closed a seed financing to fund infrastructure expansion and to advance its commercialization roadmap.

  • Foreverland

    Participated · Seed · Oct 2024

Foreverland develops industrial-scale, cocoa-free ingredient solutions intended to replicate the taste and functionality of chocolate; its flagship product Choruba is made from Mediterranean crops such as carob. The company positions its offerings as a way to reduce cocoa supply-chain risks, address price volatility, and mitigate climate-related pressures on cocoa farming. Foreverland has achieved IFS Food certification and reports accelerating demand from confectionery manufacturers. It aims to enable manufacturers to maintain production stability while offering more stable pricing and lower environmental impact. The company plans to expand commercially across Europe, strengthen partnerships with major confectionery players, recruit senior talent from the cocoa and chocolate industry, and expand its product portfolio to include an organic cocoa-free line. To date it has raised a total of €9.4 million in funding.

  • Nosh Biofoods

    Participated · Seed · Apr 2023

Nosh.bio develops fermented fungi-based ingredients designed to serve as single-ingredient meat analogs and other food applications. Its first commercial product, Koji Chunks, uses a non-GMO, non-novel fermented fungi ingredient and will be sold in five flavours. The company was founded in February 2022 and operates from a former brewery to accelerate route to market and reduce operating costs. Nosh.bio has secured fresh investment from new backers and strategic partners, enabling it to scale commercialisation efforts. Its fermentation process is adaptable for applications beyond meat analogs, including seafood, confectionery, sauces, and health & wellness products. A commercial partnership with zur Mühlen Group will initially bring Koji Chunks to German retailers through ZMG’s network, supporting mass-market adoption. Nosh.bio’s mission is “Sustainable Nutrition Made Affordable,” focusing on developing sustainable, animal‑free proteins. The company pursued seed funding to advance its product and narrative amid a challenging investment climate. In April 2023 Nosh.bio completed a €3.2M round. Fundraising strategy emphasized a clear equity story, a curated hit list of 100 investors, and leveraging industry insiders to open doors. CEO Tim Fronzek stressed frequent engagement with the cap table—weekly investor meetings and regular requests for introductions—to secure commitments. The company’s public messaging centers on aligning investors with the vision of affordable, animal‑free nutrition.
